    Post [ROM][flo|deb][UNOFFICIAL][LineageOS 18.1] -> 2021-07-21

    No promises, but my N7 is down trying to install this. I know how to fix that back to Nougat, but why not try and play with something real. I remember the rotation issue from.....L, probably. I think I can find it again. Again no promises. I want to see Oreo working well.

    Post [ROM][7.0_r6][Surnia] The Android Open Source Project

    Well, I suppose that is true. This seems abandoned, and I was more worried about having a post that shows this exists that isn't stuck in comments on another post since it is a good ROM, and to discuss it.

    Which CAF branch? Can you post your manifest? (this really needs to be in a new post....) ---------- Post added at 12:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:27 AM ---------- While it remains here (seriously, new post. It deserves it).... Quick testing, everything seems to work...

    Can you post sources? (and, this should be in a new post really). Checking it out though. Thanks!

    Yeah, I didn't have time to keep up with it. There is a further successor to both this and my fork here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013/development/rom-t3569067 They are building for both Deb and Flo.

    Post [ROM][flo|deb][UNOFFICIAL][LineageOS 18.1] -> 2021-07-21

    Yeah, I took those out of DevSwift1's stuff because I thought I had found a better fix. (cause that still seems hacky to me) I don't think I really did though.

    Post [ROM][flo|deb][UNOFFICIAL][LineageOS 18.1] -> 2021-07-21

    A bit late, but to let people know. Installed the latest of this dirty over my last build (0.10.0.1) and it seems fine. Thanks again for taking this over followmsi. Quick question. The kernel build date is still 27 Feb, so can't have any patches from the March update. Were there none in the...

    Thanks for doing this! I've really been too busy to keep up with this. You should probably start a new thread for it. But, if you don't want to, I can update this one with your builds.

    Lied in the last post, this is new, and with less detail, I may also have seen. Somewhat at least. There may be something odd in the most recent build with recovery. Will look into it

    Quick not really update. Stepped away from even thinking about this for a weekish just cause moved to a FT position, finally, and wanted to work on my app idea (which I still haven't done enough). Still committed to this. Trying to figure out the Play Movies thing now. I'm missing something...

    Post [W.I.P] AOSP 7.1.1_r4 Nougat NMF26O [07.12.2016]

    Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's it. Slight pressure on the sides is what makes it work when it stops. I'm a little worried about messing with it without a backup if it'll mostly work. If it gets worse I will though.

    Post [W.I.P] AOSP 7.1.1_r4 Nougat NMF26O [07.12.2016]

    Some possibly very bad news. The touchscreen on my N7 seems to have died*. Not looking tonight, but once I find my OTG adapter that I never really used, I'll see how well I can still use it to work on this. I think I'll be able to, just a pain. I do want to. I plan on replacing it since I...

    Post [W.I.P] AOSP 7.1.1_r4 Nougat NMF26O [07.12.2016]

    There have been several reports of it not. I haven't tried it since (I think the issue may be pico with a clean install. Need to read back though)

    Post [W.I.P] AOSP 7.1.1_r4 Nougat NMF26O [07.12.2016]

    That could be difficult. I have no way to test that. (Though there is something I noticed in logcat that may lead somewhere. It's on the list)

    Post [W.I.P] AOSP 7.1.1_r4 Nougat NMF26O [07.12.2016]

    I'm using Micro. The Pico thing is something I mean to look into on my next day off (Monday, unless snowstorm screws with things. Maybe tomorrow). I should probably put a note on the OP that you just can't use Pico. I have no idea why it is causing issues at all though. It is weird.

    The device tree I never forked and I can't push to the original. Doing that now, but the only change I've even made in there is this commit. (for this issue) Fixing that shortly. The updated flo binaries are up. (and the manifest is up. which I hadn't pushed yet. Though I think nothing...

    Post [W.I.P] AOSP 7.1.1_r4 Nougat NMF26O [07.12.2016]

    The way things look, GPS was probably fine up to 0.8.1, then broke in 0.8.999-0.10.0 (Flo only). I think I thought it was broken through the 0.8.x's due to quick undetailed testing and the fact that GPS in this house is just crap as I mentioned. There was a definite change in 0.8.999 that...

    That's not working, but completely different errors that show widevine is there and trying to work. Thinking I should pull the version of it from the 7.1.1 release bullhead image. (trying that.) Edit: or do what you said in the comment I hadn't seen yet. Or both.

    Thanks for the tip, trying it now. And, I know about the name. Got it stuck in my head as Wild at the start and once that happens it takes me forever to un-teach myself. I probably will now with it fixed (hopefully) and never need to type it again.

    This is still the latest that fully works. (3.x only the front camera works, and 4.x crashes on start still) Google Camera 2.7.008 ApkMirror does have a 2.7.010 from 2 days ago, but it fails to install with a signature issue for me.

    0.10.0.1 (Flo only) Here. All it fixes is GPS which shouldn't have been broken on Deb (or what I changed won't matter anyway and something else is wrong). It takes forever to get a fix for me, but I know that is an issue in this house and it is 17 degrees F outside and I like warm. But it...

    Post [W.I.P] AOSP 7.1.1_r4 Nougat NMF26O [07.12.2016]

    Hmm. This doesn't explain why going backwards isn't helping, but the Wildvine patch from CM I put in removed the GPS config from the vendor makefile. That can't be right. Maybe putting it back will help. ETA: And it only did it for Flo, which would explain it working for some but not others...

    You lost Twrp flashing 0.10? That shouldn't happen. There isn't a recovery image in the zip. (I think. I know I didn't change anything there and it didn't kill mine)

    Well, it bugs me. Even more now that it seems to be working for others. I want to know what happened since I know it was working (and the bits that really should affect GPS have not been touched in months). Let me know if going to stock and back works. I don't really understand why it would...

    Post [W.I.P] AOSP 7.1.1_r4 Nougat NMF26O [07.12.2016]

    Hmmm. Looking way back to see where GPS was originally fixed, I did test it back in 0.1 and reported that it actually worked despite it being in the "bugs" category initially back then. (and it really did work then. I remember it now) Which sucks. That means nothing "fixed it" possibly, it...

    Post [W.I.P] AOSP 7.1.1_r4 Nougat NMF26O [07.12.2016]

    I'm not actually sure where GPS broke. Until you mentioned it, I had never actually tested it specifically. I just took it on faith that it worked in Devswift1's builds since he said so, and I'm 99% sure nothing I did for the Oct Patch (0.7.x) would have killed it. I'm less sure about 0.8...

    v0.10.0, 7.1.1_r4..... Is on the OP and below. Went with a "don't be a perfectionist" approach. GPS and Wildvine are still broken, but it otherwise seems as "working" as 0.8.x. This went far quicker than I thought, mostly because I made some good decisions in the 7.1 update to make things...

    Well, progress. The issue was SELinux (which I should have guessed sooner.) I'm now sure I'll get a build out today. It may be a bit broken, and have SeLinux set to permissive. We'll see. (This shot is from straight as possible AOSP, is actually 7.1.1_r1 instead of 4 so the build id is...

    Post [W.I.P] AOSP 7.1.1_r4 Nougat NMF26O [07.12.2016]

    Uneducated guess, but 7.1.1 may take a bit. It builds, even with the full patches for this Rom, but hangs on boot in ways that are new and maybe beyond me, even with a straight as possible AOSP build. (for now. Fun project. It is probably more like bringing it up to N from M than a simple...

    The next two days, ignoring a meeting tomorrow morning, are my weekend. I'm starting to work on 7.1.1 now. Fingers crossed, I can get it up and running in the next 2 days. (The kernel changes that correspond to the Dec Security Update will wait for CM to release one. Just piggybacking off...

    Yes, I use this for Play Games myself. (or had, been using straight Micro for testing with my in Dev builds for a bit now. Not sure Play Games still fits, but it should) I will change the "recommended" to "required, no less", though I'm not sure why less isn't working.

    One more not quite 0.9 This should not break anything that was working in 0.8.1, and includes the full Nov Update (assuming CM got everything in the kernel.) Only tossing it here for testing to see if there is anything new broken. I'm going to spend late tomorrow and Wednesday trying to...

    Yes, sensors were definitely broken by me pulling in the 7.1 version of Bionic (by literally just using it without adding the 2 previous patches back in). That's done now. (not sure if that will fix GPS, but I'd think so. Will test before calling 0.9 "done".

    Not quite 0.9 Holy hell! It boots! Flo only for now, I'll run Deb and put it up tomorrow afternoon (unless it fails). It is as I mentioned earlier, not quite the whole Nov Security update, it is missing the kernel updates. As suggested by jisoo, I'm going to pull CM's commits for that and...

    So quick status update. More to say that I AM working on updating still. (which the last comment implied anyway, but...) I made the mistake of changing build computers (which I alluded to the other day) in conjunction with suddenly working more. (which I didn't know was coming so quickly)...

    It is pretty clear now since I just changed the file name, but in case anyone notices the zip labeled v0.9 in my Android File Host stuff, DO NOT USE IT. Still checking, but it probably doesn't boot. (The file itself will probably go away shortly unless I'm wrong and it is ok)

    Not a commitment, but holy hell Nate! Pay attention when switching build computers when not tracking changes in the manifest remotely yet since it hasn't built. (I've spent far too long over just a change from 4 to 7 that I didn't see was missing.)
