    Post CF-Auto-Root

Also for anybody with a 925F who flashed the root but is stuck in a boot loop - you can flash the 925T and it will boot fine. Not sure if everything will work 100%, but it will boot fine.

New version of this app that uses the new Google Maps API (vectors, smooth scrolling, etc) with a better UI is available on Google Play now. Also has details of which organization controls each hop. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rc.vtrace2

Your APK is only available from an HTTP link. You have provided no hash of the APK so I have no way of knowing if the the APK I just downloaded is actually from you. Your app is closed source - I have no idea what it might be doing. While you may not be doing anything malicious on purpose, you...

Luckily you aren't a malware author then, or we'd all be screwed! ;) Of the current 4 malware using this exploit I know of in the wild, all run on app start - which is blocked by all 3 solutions. Supercurios solution works on non-rooted devices, and therefore has by far the best chance to help...

Post [2012.12.18] Why Exynos exploit patches may not work as expected + demo app

Props on the great research Chainfire, I agree with it all 100% Personally though, malware authors target the easy and low hanging fruit - in this case, 99% of phone users who have not used any kind of fix. (99% is a very low estimate). They have no real reason to try and 'out race' mine or...

Camera on my device also continues to work fine, and I can confirm the permissions set by the app: ls -l /dev/exynos-mem crw------- system graphics 1, 14 2012-12-14 10:18 exynos-mem Maybe only some devices require world-access to the exynos-mem file to use the camera.

Post [ROOT][SECURITY] Root exploit on Exynos

Yes, Google uses an automated detection system for vulnerabilities, and if they detect that your app has an exploit inside it your market account will be banned. Google is very difficult to talk to on issues like this and you'd have a hard time even getting hold of a real person to prove your...

Post [ROOT][SECURITY] Root exploit on Exynos

Oh, 100%. Makes sense to me and would be good to distribute to users who aren't rooted. My app is just a quick fix made for the XDA community, and I'm sure most people here are very much rooted (and full of stock roms ;) ) To XDA users: I recommend you either run 'su' 'chmod 600...

It crashes? Interesting :o Works here fine.. device must be rooted to use it, but I'm sure yours is rooted... If you could post the logcat would be interesting to see why something so simple would crash! You can check out the github source too if you want, it's been added to the post above...

Hey. Sure, help is welcome as I haven't had time to update this app much. I've uploaded it to github now though since at least one person is interested...

    Post [APP][OSS] Fake GPS Path

Random speed option works, but it changes speed rapidly enough that most GPS apps will smooth away the randomness. Having it change speed slow enough to show up nicely in GPS apps has the effect of making it mostly ignore the speed setting you set.. I'll try get a nice fix for it though.

    Post [APP][OSS] Fake GPS Path

Thanks for the report. It's a crash when showing the 'cant find' toast. Didn't come up for me in testing since it's actually pretty rare for google maps to not find something, haha! I put up a v1.2.1 with a fix for it in the OP

    Post [APP][OSS] Fake GPS Path

Because of something else - a pen testing company I'm affiliated with - It's probably a mistake though so hopefully it can get sorted out, but at the rate Google Play dev support works that could be a few years! I haven't experienced any crashes with the app, but then I've only tested it on my...

V 1.2 - Option to randomize speed - Search ability - Stops fake gps at end of path Hopefully the auto-stop at the end of the path will sort out the gps thing for you guys. For me it takes about 5-10 seconds at the end of the path for it to go back to the real location. If you want to stop it...

    Post [APP][OSS] Fake GPS Path

That's strange.. no such issues here, but then I'm on CM9 and not CM7, so maybe they've fixed it? Did you force quit the app, or did you hit the stop button at the top right of the app? After stopping, how long did you wait for the device to pick up your real location? It can take 30 sec or so...

    Thread [APP][OSS] Fake GPS Path

I was trying to test out different things that required a moving GPS position - obviously that's hard to do when you need to go driving around to do it! Post [APP] FileSlick v1.7

Yeah, I've seen this. The issue is that the data is moved onto hardware/tcp, and reports back that it has sent it. It should average out to the correct speed pretty quickly for big files though. I'm not really sure... it does do full recursion: public void deleteDirectory(FileWrapper...

The force language option feels a bit buggy in general... It's not really a proper Google approved method to be doing it at all, and I can't find a way to reset it back to the system default. Switch panel would require that the user click it first before navigating away from wherever he was, while auto adding the last switch might be nicer, but then you can't 'set' it. Since you can set explicitly using add place, I think the auto method is probably nicer? Also, going to be moving...

Probably the best bet is to for it to automatically (temporary too) add the last place you were when you switched away to top of the places list. So if you were in /somewhere and you switched to root, it would auto create a /somewhere at the top of the places for you to easily switch back to...
