Post [ROOT]Root Guide for Huawei MediaPad M5

Success! Magisk installed and root available. I didn't dare installing TWRP yet, because I read that some problems exist. More research needed. However all preparations were wrong. I needed the firmware CMR-WR09C432B168 dated 2018.07.18. Today the Windows version of the Huawei Firmware Finder...

Post [ROOT]Root Guide for Huawei MediaPad M5

I now downloaded the correct firmwares with the Huawei Firmware Finder. I ordered a Huawei MediaTab M5 10, so I figuered I need the firmware with the code CMR-AL09C00B185. As a second firmware CMR-AL09C432B183 is available. Older firmwares seem not to be available for the code CMR-AL09. Will...

Thank you for your answer. I downloaded that firmware from the link in the first post. As the headline on that particular website it says that the firmwares are for the M5 10 pro. So there seems to be a messup on that site. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I will try the Huawei...

Hello AndDiSa, yes, it is the whole package marked as "FullOTA-MF" and is 3.7GB in size when unzipped. The version is shown as "BLN-L21C185B387", dated 10.09.2018. I additionally downloaded the file marked as "BLN-L22C675B365CUSTC675D001" dated 30.5.2018. Here the Huawei Update Extractor finds...

Hello, I downloaded the latest firmware from the link in the first post. It is dated 2018.09.10 but there is no version number (8.0.0.x) provided. When I try to extract the ramdisk.img with the Huawei Update Extractor, I cannot find a ramdisk.img within the UPDATE.APP file. Does root still work...

    Post {ROM}[T][STOCK][JB 4.3][UB&LB][9.2.A.0.295] Official Firmware - Rooted&Deodexed 25/02

OK. I have copied the /data/etc folder with my original data from an old backup onto the phone. Then I redid the wlan_fix in cwm. The MAC of the wifi adapter is fine. However the bluetooth MAC still changes everytime I turn BT off and on. It has no similarities to the MAC in bluetooth_bdaddr...

Thanks. I'm starting to get there, I believe. I don't have an etc folder in my data folder. Also the files in the etc folder would have to be symlinked to /system/etc/firmware/... somewhere. And I also don't have the symlinks anymore. I deletetd those because the wifi-fix created these symlinks...

BT MAC changes Hello, the bluetooth MAC changes randomly everytime BT is toggled off and on. This is particularly annoying since all pairings become invalid after BT toggle. Any chance for a quick fix? Or do I have the chance to change the BT MAC with a script after BT toggle? The symlinks...

    Thread [Q] Notification LED - Xperia T - Stock 9.1.A.1.141

Hello, my notification LED only works to indicate the charging process. It doesn't illuminate for normal notifications although "super stamina" mode is turned off. I have successfully mounted an external HDD via a externally powered USB-Hub. The FAT32 partition can be mounted without additional software, the NTFS partition can be mounted with the free app "NTFS mount". USB-Sticks will be powered by the tablet without problem. The problem is, that the...

You can do that with your Google account. You can add a second account to one (or both) of your devices. This way this device can access the calendar data of your other device. Also you can use paid apps on both devices this way by telling the market to use the secondary google account. Regards...

    Post Slow Charging

Buying a 2A charger won't do because the tab is limiting the current it draws from the charger unless it detects the original charger. This is to comply with the USB standard maximum current of 0.5A. If the tab drew more current from a standard charger, chances are good that the charger either...

Post Low space available - Tab 10.1

What space exactly? The Tab shares its memory between "SD" and "Internal" memory automatically. So if the tab tells you 4.7GB internal memory free and e.g. 8GB SD-storage free, you have a total of 12.7GB available. Regards Achim

    Post charger

Do you take that reading from the current widget logs, or do you read it off the screen when it's on? If you read it off the screen you're missing the 500mA of the running tablet. Regards Achim

    Post charger

That is not correct. With the stock kernel the tab will only (!) charge with the original charger, unless a special adaptor is used. When connecting a non original charger or connecting the tab to a computer USB port, the battery symbol is Xed-out and the tablet doesn't charge. With the...

    Post Battery concumption on 4.0,4

    Post Battery concumption on 4.0,4

I strongly believe, they haven't looked close enough. The mentioned problem doesn't bother if you are using the tablet a lot. People who have their tablet in standby a lot, will be dropping from 10 days of standby to 3 days. While the tablet is in use, battery consumption has decreased with...

    Post Battery concumption on 4.0,4

Well, the problem ist a kernel (!!!) wakelock titeled "l2_hsic". This wakelock is not caused by an app but a faulty kernel! Definitely switching the cellular state changes this behavior but it isn't cured. Regards Achim

Post [Q] [Help] Slimmest, Lightest case for Galaxy Tab 10.1 3G.

Does anyone else have the problem that recovering the network (2G and 3G) from flight mode takes forever (2 mins.) and generally takes two tries with 6.8a? First it takes 2 minutes to find a network, then connection with data is established for 10 seconds and dropped again. Then it takes...
