Post [4.1+] L Speed main discussion thread

First of all, the battery governor restricts big cluster independently of GovTuner profiles. With that out of the way, let's explain briefly about the power draw of "big" and "LITTLE" clusters.. The most common mistake made by 99% of the people is that powerdraw is proportional to frequency...

Thanks for the early review guys, ur review reflects exactly on the results that I wanted to achieve with the latest update and I still got some more to add which will definitely be another step or two in the right direction. In all honesty, your cpu frequency distribution looks fine to me...

The values are revised and updated in GovTuner git source. I am working on few other things for the zip release. The new values will come out in that zip Version, but Lspeed will most probably have updated target_loads in the next release itself.

It could very well be. I am that guy who has seen all the not-so great cpu directory structures in this world and I certainly feel unfortunate about that. LOL. Currently I am looking at a possible solution to fix the ever-lasting cluster problem which pops up on some random device with a more...

Post [MOD] Gov Tuner Project (November 10th 2018)

We don't want this whole thing mate, just debug of the main_detect method and variables getting stored in that method is enough. Also I am planning to do a curl depended script which will run the commands and upload the needed variables and values to a website, from where we can check it...

Post [MOD] Gov Tuner Project (November 10th 2018)

If 'w' option returns nothing to show, then there has been a problem with applying values. Its difficult to troubleshoot without owning the device and without reproducing the errors. So what I have in mind is a script which will read device's specifications and paste the necessary CPU details...

Well guys, It has definitely been team work and contributions from lot of people which has led to the development of GT to this point. I guess you all would agree with me on this. 24. Senthil360

Post [MOD] Gov Tuner Project (November 10th 2018)

The echo : write error happening on some devices is due the way your particular processor resolves the given code. Technically speaking, the CPU runs the next head command before find command completes its search, since the next head command's "read" is dependent on the "write" of find command...

GovTuner Inactive is NOT a bug. The ACTIVE/INACTIVE is not for the values but for the background process of GovTuner. In the latest version I have disabled the background process as it drains too much battery. If u want it to loop u can change it with Change Execution Interval.

Post ☆☆[ZIP] [GUIDE] NOTE 4 - KERNEL Profiles and Tweaks [Simple, Easy] [5 Jan] ☆

Hey guys , some of you might be aware that my Note 4's eMMc got fried, that's the reason why I could not continue profiles or Nameless ROM. I was about to go ahead with the release of v4.1 , but had to stop to add support for Snapdragon 835 which has a different directory tree for cpufreq. So while updating the algorithm which detects the number of clusters, governor, maxfreq, minfreq I happened to stumble upon a very easy solution...

Greetings everyone, it has been another stretch of busy period for all of us. I managed to find some time and I'm working on an update, this one will take longer, I can't give any ETA for this. Post [MOD] Gov Tuner Project (November 10th 2018)

GovTuner is no-no for EAS kernels. EAS offers nothing to tweak with the sched and schedutil governors and the reason it is developed in such a way is to break free of user inputs. Not just GovTuner, any governor related tweaks with EAS is pointless and to be honest needless. I'll go as far as...

Post [MOD] Gov Tuner Project (November 10th 2018)

The frequency values specified in tunables do not have to match exactly with the device frequency (although it would be better if it matches, we'll see about it in future). The problem you are having is caused by the way the frequencies are specified for Target_loads in improper ascending order...
  38. Senthil360

Post [MOD] Gov Tuner Project (November 10th 2018)

This is the hotplug behavior of your kernel. GovTuner only controls "tunables" of the current governor used by your kernel, it has nothing to do with Number of cores online/offline or over/Under-clocking or setting min and max frequencies. These are user dependent values . Yes you are right ;)

It installed without any problems on all the phones that we tested, so I couldn't realise what could have been the problem until reading your post. Most phones have /data partition mounted in recovery, so because of that I didn't add mount /data command in Update-binary. Totally missed that...
