    Post [ROM][AOSP][6.0/7.1][K3.4] Unlegacy Android Project

Glad to see you guy got this working ziyan. Sorry I disappeared when I did, I just couldn't take the BS anymore (not in this group, but elsewhere).

Should be easy enough, the files are out there :D

Post [ROM][7.1.2][Rootless] DesolationRom zerofltexx (Galaxy S6)

I've been meaning to do that... The one downside to hosting from my private server is the pitifully slow internet. I've been busy with a new ROM bringup so I haven't had a chance to clean this one up so far. Who all is running it though? Any thoughts?

    Post [MOD] Custom Boot Splash

This doesn't appear to work on the Galaxy S6 after the official Nougat update. Looking at the hex, it refers to some things outside of just the pictures. Every attempt I've made has resulted in a soft brick, only to be restored b a resistor jig.

Post [ROM][7.1.2][Rootless] DesolationRom zerofltexx (Galaxy S6)

Give me a few days, I'm missing commits from the device tree and am working with UltraGamerHD to fix it. So far, all I'm seeing is slight lag from time to time, but this is also on the LineageOS stock kernel.

Post Samsung Rugby Pro (SGH-I547) Super Thread

Eventually, I may revisit this device, but for now, my focus has shifted to the Galaxy S6. As far as using an older base, CM11-CM12 was a good place to stop. Security updates were becoming harder to keep up with, and it left no time for fixing bugs. BTW, I still have both of my Comanche :D

Thread [ROM][7.1.2][Rootless] DesolationRom zerofltexx (Galaxy S6)

For Galaxy S6 SM-G920I (zerofltexx) Welcome to Desolation Rom!! Our goal is to provide users with a unique staple in Android Development which aims at stability and optimizations along with what we feel is the perfect amount of features. We hope you enjoy this ROM as much as our great team...

    Post Android Area 51 Down?

I don't think I could have put it better, myself. It's amazing knowing we had such support (the numbers barely showed it). The last of the AreaROM projects rolled out of my server for Grouper, and that was it. I would love to restart the project, but I can't do it on my own.

I did a few around aug-sept, but never really sat down and hammered the smaller bugs out. (Something changed the way the radio worked, and I couldn't fix it)

    Post [Dev]AOSP/CM Porting Discussion

As another "behind the scenes" developer on the S6 (bringing up the I variant), I commend you guys on your amazing progress. Eagerly awaiting the full-scale explosion of S6 hacking in the coming weeks.

Flash the kernel after the ROM. It's a never ending work in progress. I have lots to do on a couple fronts.

In other news, I'm not quite done with Comanche yet. As I've moved over to my Galaxy S6 as a daily driver, the Comanche is now a developer phone once again. :D https://youtu.be/5vKgePvD0RU

The policing on AA51 is less stringent (and more fair IMO). We (the team) are also more closely knit. Our main draw is the support for unloved devices.

    Post [WIP][ROM][6.0] Nexus 7 Marshmallow - Android 6.0

In hindsight, yeah showcasing 3.4 was jumping the gun a little bit. I just got ahead of myself and wanted to bring hope to people that still use such an "old" device.

    Post [ROM][Android M/MPZ44O][UnnamedM - SDK port of Android M][for Multirom][29/05/2015]

Potentially. If I do, it'll be with the 3.1 kernel, as 3.4 isn't quite ready yet. dmtry filled me in as to what's going on, so I may be able to work something there as well.

    Post [WIP][ROM][6.0] Nexus 7 Marshmallow - Android 6.0

Other way around, friend :). dmitrygr did the N4. I started on the N7 (2012) myself and received assistance from him and others :).

A link will be posted as soon as we fix Surfaceflinger and a couple bugs in the 3.4 kernel.

    Post [WIP][ROM][6.0] Nexus 7 Marshmallow - Android 6.0

For some reason, surfaceflinger isn't looking in the /system for the GPU binaries. To bypass this I had to symlink them to the rootfs.
  21. Motorhead1991

    Post [WIP][ROM][6.0] Nexus 7 Marshmallow - Android 6.0

I highly encourage the use of the stock 3.1 kernel. I've modified sepolicy to allow old kernels to run.

    Thread [WIP][ROM][6.0] Nexus 7 Marshmallow - Android 6.0

It was bound to happen, so here it is. The Grouper running Android 6.0! What works: - WiFi - display - audio - Bluetooth (partially) - Multiwindow - Auto-rotate What's broken: - OTG - surfaceflinger* What's untested: - camera - NFC I will not offer a ROM zip at this point due to the fact...

    Post [ROM][Android M/MPZ44O][UnnamedM - SDK port of Android M][for Multirom][29/05/2015]

The Grouper is only slightly ahead then, because I do have audio, Bluetooth turns on but needs further testing, OTG is untested, and I haven't found a GAPPS package that works (Tried both of Slim's already)

    Post [ROM][Android M/MPZ44O][UnnamedM - SDK port of Android M][for Multirom][29/05/2015]

    Post [ROM][Android M/MPZ44O][UnnamedM - SDK port of Android M][for Multirom][29/05/2015]

Any tips for surfaceflinger? It's not release ready if rootfs is insecure. EDIT: Thanks to dolorespark, I got it booted up. Unfortunately the surfaceflinger bug and the hack I used to fix it keeps it from release.

Good news, folks. My server is back online following an uphill battle against dynamic IP addressing. I have good news and bad news (mostly good): 1. The kernel needs updated - The supported sepolicy in the stock kernel is too low, so we need to update that or finish bringing up Linux 3.4 so we chan cherry-pick from the other Nexus devices. To get around this, I used the ramdisk from Lollipop...

That's correct, however there aren't many changes between L and M. The sepolicy is Alot more strict though

Depending on your distribution, you may need to enable the legacy cod stuff to install Make 3.81. I have mine set up via update-alternatives since Debian 8 ships with 4.0 Also, I installed the preview build. The kernel locks up so I can't get any diagnostic feedback from it.

Google put up 2 branches of the M preview: android-m-preview and android-m-preview-1. I built the latter variant, so I'm hoping that's preview 2 :)

As of last night, AOSP android-m-preview-1 is buildable. I woke up this morning and saw that it had finished. After I include some necessary files that I missed, I'll be sure to report back on the status.

The later builds were better. Part of the battery drain is the fact that both cores might still be on (mpdecision does that). I'm days away from the launch of the side project I've been running though ;). I've been without real internet for the last week (notice that the website was down?), but...

As stated previously, the camera works when it feels like it. Data works but you may need to put your APN settings in manually (I haven't tried a recent 12.1 build yet) WiFi's finicky, after inputting the password, shut it off, then turn it back on, it'll connect.
