You do not need to downgrade to get root; just follow the process for rooting on 10p (I followed the process while on 20a and rooted without a problem)

You can flash the stock laf and lafbak partitons to put download mode back. If you didn't backup your stock ones I can provide the images if you tell me which firmware you are on.

Thread society is horrible [rant mode on]

I can't believe how horrible society as a whole is nowadays. I lost my job a few months back and have been having trouble getting back on my feet, having finally gotten another job in my field of expertise and still needing some help with bills that I have fallen behind on during my unemployment...

I asked runningnak3d to update it. The upside is you can flash the image directly from TWRP once you get a version with working visuals

There are some people playing up their bounty and I saw someone mention the link in the OP. Could you make some reference for the bounty to be paid to runningnak3d as he is the reason we now have root?

Understood. I haven't had the time to build TWRP for the 872 yet. I should have one out in the coming days. Unless you happen to know where one exists

The 872 TWRP in the root method is actually TWRP for the 870. Are you asking if you can use flash image from TWRP while booted into the laf TWRP, yes you can.

Either the battery died or it was from holding the vol - and power for 60 seconds and it finally rebooted back into Android. I didn't actually brick the phone it was just stuck in download mode.

Post V20 DAC - Gain adjustment (Is it the same as the V10?)

To get full output on the 3.5mm plug you need to trigger High Impendance mode. I just changed my audio_mixer xml and swapped the normal headphones and high impendance paths. See the attached screen shot. Line 3232 of mixer_paths_tasha.xml

Post Anyone disappointed in ANY aspect of the v20?

Ive done a many defect swaps with T-Mobile and only ince have they kept the charger/accessories. What they will do if they do keep them is put the new ones from the exchange on the old device and the new device will get your accessories. That was a couple years ago when that one happened. Post Magisk General Support / Discussion

topjohnwu I recommend we ask a mod to throw a link to a Q&A thread as you are soon going to get a crap load of "How do I use this" due to the new Pokemon Go update (which uses SafetyNet to check for root)

Post (Obsolete) [Magisk] [2017.1.3] phh's SuperUser topjohnwu r2

I originally was attempting this with Automate for Android but have not had much time to look into it. The tasker setup was just a quick throw together for me. With Pokemon Go now using the safetynet API I've pretty much decided to just leave Magisk root unmounted until I need root. (At least...

Post (Obsolete) [Magisk] [2017.1.3] phh's SuperUser topjohnwu r2

It can take up to 10 seconds after you have closed AP and cleared it out of recent apps. If you have tasker set to always be running (with a notification) then it will always be active scanning for AP

Post (Obsolete) [Magisk] [2017.1.3] phh's SuperUser topjohnwu r2

No it does not. When I have some time I'm going to try to track down when it does the safetynet API call and try to force that action when you open Android Pay

Tasker project/task/profile for Android Pay uses KC Tasker and Secure Settings plugins for Tasker. Import all files into Tasker after you download them. Checks every 10 seconds if Android Pay is running for startup and exit (only while the screen is on); not sure of battery impact if any...

Post Now that root is available, list what you've done.

1st and foremost for me was Magisk. Even before rooting, as it uses systemless root as well as systemless xposed. And any modification I want to make to /system. I honestly don't have to worry about having a backup as if I screw up one of my mods I simply remove it.

Yeah, I made sure to only include the free variant :) I ended up creating my modules on my PC is was much quicker for me. Glad you were able to figure it out :)

Post Magisk General Support / Discussion

base.apk is just what the apps are named once installed by the package manager. In the module on my post it is simply the gsam app folder extracted from /data/app

Post Magisk General Support / Discussion

I think the only items I removed were some unneeded script files and a few lines from the update-binary. That was only due to the fact that all we are doing with this module is adding an app to to priv-app
  49. KAsp3rd

Post Magisk General Support / Discussion

I originally posted the instruction when I was on v1. The attached zip was created with the newest mod template and should work with v5 & v6 I verified working with v6
  50. KAsp3rd

Post Magisk General Support / Discussion

It's a complete guess on my part but I'm looking at the update-binary script where it states #Create your mod paths I would extend that out to include priv-app I.e. mkdir -p $MODPATH/system/priv-app Attach the magisk.log so someone can take a look through there.
