Post [APP][FIRETV][NOROOT] Launcher Manager (Change Launcher without Root)

The Wolf Launcher simply remembers the last position, and returns you there when you press home. If you select the YouTube app, when you press home, you will be back to Wolf Launcher with the YouTube app still highlighted. i don't think there is a way to always return to the same spot on...

Post [APP][FIRETV][NOROOT] Launcher Manager (Change Launcher without Root)

The issue with icons not showing is a problem with sideloaded apps in general. A more detailed explanation: https://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-fix-missing-or-broken-icons-for-sideloaded-apps-on-amazon-fire-tv/ To your second point, I'm not sure I understand. When you use Launcher Manager, and...

Post [APP][FIRETV][NOROOT] Launcher Manager (Change Launcher without Root)

Launcher Manager is still working without any problems on FireOS6 and OS7. It should be fine on the 4k max (OS7). SweenWolf himself is using the 4k stick (2018 with FireOS6) and home button mapping works. It's FireOS5 that has the home button mapping problem.

Post [APP][FIRETV][NOROOT] Launcher Manager (Change Launcher without Root)

Oh, I was assuming you were using a FireTV device. If you are using a device with AndroidTV, use Launcher Manager (ATV). ATV - AndroidTV. If you were using the FireOS version, then it was looking for the Amazon launcher to disable, not the ATV Launcher. See if the ATV version works for you.

Post [APP][FIRETV][NOROOT] Launcher Manager (Change Launcher without Root)

Launcher Manager is a tool/app that enables/disables the default Amazon launch screen, and then assigns a new app as the launch screen. Wolf Launcher is a replacement home screen that Launcher Manager sets as your home screen. There aren't any compatibility issues between any of the Launcher...

A PSA for anyone using Echo Studio + Alexa Home Theater group. I had my Cube on 7.2.2.9 with updates blocked. This is the FireOS version before the new Amazon home screen layout. I just updated to 7.2.4.2 (latest) figuring I should get it over with before my warranty runs out, just in case...

I just came across AFTV News' solution to this here: https://www.aftvnews.com/introducing-remapper-my-new-app-to-reassign-the-app-buttons-on-fire-tv-edition-remotes/ There he mentions his bookmarker apps which are links to a website that you can put on your launcher page...

Post [APP][FIRETV][NOROOT] Launcher Manager (Change Launcher without Root)

ATV Launcher is not open source, you'd have to get it from the creator. Wolf Launcher is a mod without access to the source code which is why there were always limitations to what could be changed and added.

You can find 'Shortcut Maker' in the Google Play Store, or apkmirror.com, or any other site that mirrors the Google Play Store

Post [APP][FIRETV][NOROOT] Launcher Manager (Change Launcher without Root)

It was suggested before that you can try an app like 'shortcut maker' to create icon/links on the launcher home page. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/app-firetv-noroot-launcher-manager-change-launcher-without-root.4176349/post-85252277 I believe this works for FireOS6. I had mixed results...

Post [APP][FIRETV][NOROOT] Launcher Manager (Change Launcher without Root)

The home button goes straight to Wolf Launcher on FireOS6+OS7. I believe some accessibility feature is disabled by Amazon in FireOS5 that prevents it from working right in that version. I don't know if an app like Button Mapper works any better in FireOS5?

Alright, so the problem is that refresh rate matching turns off when the Cube is powered off and on again? I don't use that feature so I can't be off much help. I'm assuming you have video resolution set to 'auto'? Maybe this article will give you some insight into what's going wrong...

Post [APP][FIRETV][NOROOT] Launcher Manager (Change Launcher without Root)

The inability to make shortcuts may be OS related? I think Wolf is working off of FireOS 6 (Android 7). I can't make shortcuts either with FireOS 7 (Android 9). Is your Shield also on Android 9? My guess for the failed backup restoration with Wolf launcher is that backups may not always work...

Post [APP][FIRETV][NOROOT] Launcher Manager (Change Launcher without Root)

I believe that the Launcher Manager actually disables the default launcher or service it relies on, and that's why you can't have a link to jump to it. The link would have to re-enable the stock launcher (which is what the Launcher Manager does). You can see this with these links, that link...

Yea, I think that was added on 0.1.9 I also use rounded icons. It would probably look better if we could make the outline rounding match the icon rounding. Or just an option to turn it off I guess.

The whole line of questioning seems absurd. Starting with the old, 'people are saying' and 'I'm just asking questions'. And then being offended by not getting a happy friendly reply, to what you are insinuating. If you don't trust the developer of the app+mod to not add malware, why would you...

Would it be possible to create a icon/link for the channel guide (LiveTV)? I'd like an icon that I can place with my regular apps. Thanks, I always like to see what apps other people are using. I would make one recommendation, the app 'Easy Fire Tools'. This app is for your android phone and will let you remotely sideload apps to your FireTV device. I personally think it's better that people download their APKs...

@SweenWolf Thank you again for all your work on this launcher, it really makes FireOS a lot more bearable for someone coming from AndroidTV. Would it be possible to make the wallpaper rotate through a folder of wallpapers (daily or some other time interval). It's a little bit of a frivolous...

    Post 5-GHZ WIFI channels 100-140

The issue is that a bunch of Amazon devices don't work on DFS channels. The DFS channels are 52-64 and 100-140. So sure it will work on 153 that's not a DFS channel. It has nothing to do with how good your router is. A lot of routers don't broadcast on DFS channels and those that do have the...

Thread Nexus 5 won't turn on or display charging icon, no bootloop

I've had my Nexus 5 since it was released in 2013. About two years ago I started getting a dreaded bootloop and determined it was the power switch failing. I had the power switch replaced and all my problems went away. About 6 months ago I started seeing the symptoms of a failing power...
