    Depends on how it was erased... are you talking about contacts? Or the conversations with them? If it is conversations/ past messages then they will have it on their phones, if it is their phone numbers/ contacts, then it depends on where they were saved... but at this point it is time to make a...

    If you are trying to recover erased data, you have no chance. By the time you got root it will be long gone, overwritten by failed attempts at rooting.

    Is it possible to edit the partitions so much so that it were as though you just flashed a given custom rom with a different android version?

    Any respectable cell service will give you the band's you need, if you need 5g rather than lte they should provide it.

    If you can you should get g9880 (Chinese) rather than g988u (usa)

    If I did this, could I use the root to force oem unlock, unlock the bootloader, and then get back the limitations? (80% battery back to 100 etc)

    As far as I can tell, Samsung uses a proprietary Odin language/command set/program, so presumably fastboot will never work...

    If I am understanding this, than you need to grant an app SU, but first you have to install the command that allowes giving of SU? or turn on that command (on android 6+), and grant a manager app permission to use it?

    I have looked into rooting, and I don't understand how it works, but from what I can tell, shouldn't people be able to root using adb to change a file that is run regularly in /system, so that whenever it runs it would grant a given app root perms, and that app would then be able to give others...
