    Post [KERNEL] [blu_spark r171 OP6/T] [A11 OOS]

Please don't spread the wrong word buddy. DC dimming is primarily a kernel level implementation because of how closely it is tied to the display. ROMs merely have a switch to turn it on or off. Most kernel features are disabled by default and are left to the user to enable them if they want...

Post [KERNEL] SmurfKernel 2.0.78 [GPU OC / UC] [OOS / CUSTOM UNIFIED][4.9.191]

That's also the only reason the app requests root access. The app should work just fine even without root access but that setting option will become useless. Just gonna make sure everybody knows it. The app needs root access ONLY to run the script. The app DOES NOT use root access for anything...

Save button saves the beautiful list in the app to the smurf.kernel.config file in storage. The run script option executes /init.smurf.sh in the background. init.smurf.sh is responsible for reading the config and applying the respective selected values on bootup (just with the app it happens on...

    Post [MOD][Kernel] K-Lapse : A kernel-level livedisplay module [GPLv2]

All kernel values reset on reboot. That's how the kernel works. /sys is where all (mostly) kernel options are located and it's not persistent storage (essentially). That's why kernel managers have the option to "apply on boot" so they can reapply the values on reboot.

Post [KERNEL] [February 4] OnePlus 7 Pro ElementalX 2.11 (Android 10)

No kernel setting sticks after a reboot. That's why all kernel managers have the "apply on boot" function in the first place. /sys isn't persistent storage

    Post [KERNEL] [February 5] ElementalX-OP6 4.00 (Android 10)

v5.1 might be pushed soon with minor changes to help app-side implementations, like exporting constants/range limits. I believe that would help mode 2. Just saying, you know. It's upto the dev to add it now or wait a couple days for me to push the "helper" update and then merge :) flar2 I...

Post [KERNEL] [February 4] OnePlus 7 Pro ElementalX 2.11 (Android 10)

After further testing and confirming from many other users, I found that there's an issue with EXKM. It doesn't apply the correct values for k-lapse dimmer automation start and stop minutes after a reboot if the apply on boot option is enabled. All other values are applied properly. Steps to...

You might be surprised but I'm actually waiting for the day for RZ to finally publicly have k-lapse so I could switch to it and try it out. I've been hearing/seeing uncountable compliments about the smoothness of RZ so it's kinda tempting :p As much as I'd love to check out "dat smooth boi"...

Post [KERNEL] [9.x.x] [Clang 9] Shadow Kernel for Poco F1 aka Pocophone F1 (Beryllium)

It decreases the screen RGB by the same proportion. It doesn't change the backlight power and hence doesn't affect PWM frequency. Using low brightness in Android on OLEDs will usually causes flickers (though not noticeable to the eye) that in turn cause eye strain. That's why more OEMs are...

    Post [App][Root][5.0+] SmartPack-Kernel Manager

In my experience, that happens with any tile, no matter which app or function. I use the Quick Settings app to add some extra tiles to OOS on my op6, and some of them are just switches, like caffeine and HBM. They all always lag too, and I think it has to do with Android's service restrictions...

    Post [App][Root][5.0+] SmartPack-Kernel Manager

Doing what you ask will require SPKM to know what mode you use. While what you say sure would be great to have, but it would be a weird implementation app-side. The best way to do that and to remove any outside factors would be an option inside the app that allows you to pick a pre-defined value...

    Post [MOD][Kernel] K-Lapse : A kernel-level livedisplay module [GPLv2]

It looks like iOS has this feature called RWP (Reduce White Point) that works by basically reducing the display intensity, kinda like a dark filter. I think it works the same way k-lapse dimmer works, which is by reducing the RGB scales by the same proportion. Just throwing that out there. The...

Ideally the screen should be visible, implying that at least one color must be a positive value. Should give a warning in your app's kcal section if you do it, going below a threshold because 1,0,0 is still pretty much black to human eye

Hey! It's worth mentioning that after flashing, you could go to TWRP options and "copy logs" (exclude kernel logs) to get a better insight about what went wrong :p Maybe share the recovery.log file too next time if the issue ever occurs again
