    Post Tablet constantly downloading something

Well disabling had a bit of an unwanted side effect - Google Play won't open! I'll keep looking to see what's requesting the Download Manager to download stuff, starting with disabling DeviceSoftwareOTA.

    Post Tablet constantly downloading something

Thanks Richard. Although the app doesn't show the individual network usage, I think because it needs to be granted 'Usage Data Access' which doesn't appear to be an option on the HD10, it did show that the Amazon 'Download Manager' was chewing the most CPU time. Forced stopped that and the...

    Thread Tablet constantly downloading something

Hi, I've just found my rooted HD10 is constantly downloading at a rate up to 20Mbit/s. It shifted 20GB overnight. . Unfortunately I have no idea what's doing it. Are there any apps that work with Fire OS which will display the network usage of apps? Ones I've found so far require an android...

    Post [TUT] ROOT HD10 (2017), HD8(2016-2017) - EASY SuperSu

I'd set up lots including installing all of the Google services and it rooted fine using this method (from 5.6.0.1). If you run into problems then look at restarting from a factory reset.

Post NO ROOT REQUIRED: Completely disable and enable your lock screen

Sadly disabling the lock screen this way didn't work for me. HD 10 (7th Gen) 5.6.0.1, rooted.

Post [Help Thread][Fire HD 8 and HD 10](7th Gen/2017) Ask Any Question, Noob Friendly

OK, with the discussion above about Google's services potentially blocking uncertified devices, maybe I'll bring rooting up the priority list... In which case, once rooted, how would I go about adding the accounts functionality as above? Cheers :)

Post [Help Thread][Fire HD 8 and HD 10](7th Gen/2017) Ask Any Question, Noob Friendly

I did, but was trying to get it where I wished without going down the rooting route. Not having the accounts isn't a show-stopper, just an annoyance as I like to have multiple Gmail accounts on the device, but only sync the emails and turn off all the rest. It's only 24 hours old so I'll see how...

Post [Help Thread][Fire HD 8 and HD 10](7th Gen/2017) Ask Any Question, Noob Friendly

Hi, I've just received my Fire HD 10 and got Google Play working fine, along with Gmail & contacts. What I haven't been able to find is a section in the settings which manages all the accounts on the device. 'Accounts' or 'Accounts and Sync' usually lists all the accounts on the device, e.g...

Post [APP] AppStarter v4.0 | AppDrawer and Kodi / SPMC Updater for Amazon FireTV

You can accomplish that using a custom keymap for the Fire TV remote. http://kodi.wiki/view/Alternative_keymaps_for_Fire_TV_remote (and other Google search results) I set a longpress of the back button to take you to the Kodi home screen: <keymap> <Global> <keyboard> <browser_back...

    Post XCam LG v6.2.4 [G3]

Thanks for the reply. As far as I can tell it's a one-off request for the location - certainly ES File Explorer has only asked the once and its write access over the card has remained.

    Post XCam LG v6.2.4 [G3]

I'm on stock, unrooted Lollipop and can't root due to other app's paranoia over rooted devices so I can't use the SD Fix per the first posts. My understanding is that Lollipop re-introduced the ability for apps to write to the external SD Card again. The app needs an extra permission and it...

    Post [Q&A] [ROM][5.0.1][LOLLIPOP][i9300]RESURRECTION REMIX 5.2.1[CM12-BASED]

Hi, this is the first ROM I've put on my S3 and I'm very impressed. Bang up to date version of Android and faster than the Samsung stock 4.3 I came from. My S3 is born again - Many thanks! Running 5.3.8 Stable from a clean install with PA GApps. Only two real issues I've come across so far: 1...

Post [APP] NoLED v6.0.19 - Use the AMOLED screen for incoming notifications

There's a workaround listed in the FAQ - can't say if it works as I haven't tried it. On my S3 I have left NoLED monitoring just the SMS and email which it can do without the accessibility options. I'm just hoping Samsung get it fixed sooner rather than later. It's good to see in the Samsung...

    Post [APP][1.6+] MM Tracker

I've just got a Nexus 7 and MM Tracker looks gorgeous on it - just a crying shame that it'll fail if I take the 4.2 update :crying: I'd be happy if Map Man (or another dev) could just tweak it to work on 4.2 and no further feature development ever occurred. Obviously upgrades would be good but...

    Post [APP][1.6+] MM Tracker

I hadn't noticed that. Timing. :( I've only just paid again for MM Tracker on AndroidPit as I figured another £5 was worth it if it encouraged further development. I hope further updates appear somewhere even if Michael has to host it himself.

Post [APP] NoLED v6.0.19 - Use the AMOLED screen for incoming notifications

NoLED + Widgetlocker Hi madmack, first off I'd just like to say many thanks for this app. The absence of the LED on the SGS2 is a right pain so NoLED now ranks as one of my 'must have' apps. I've just got around to using widgetlocker on the SGS2 (I'd previously purchased it for the Desire). It...

    Post [APP][1.6+] MM Tracker

Hi Michael, I use c:geo for geocaching. One of the navigation options I've recently found is 'Show on ext. map'. At the moment this only gives me the options: Maps (Google's) & Radar (GPS Status) Is it possible for MM Tracker to show up on this list? I assume it needs to be able to accept a...

    Post [APP][1.6+] MM Tracker

Yesterday was the first time I had chance to test the "Rotate map based on compass" and pinch zoom while out on a walk. Both worked great and it really is now a superb app. Many thanks Michael. Keep up the great work. :D

    Post [APP][1.6+] MM Tracker

Hi Michael, When I first got my Desire I installed GPS Status and almost every time I opened it I was asked to recalibrate the compass. Waggling the phone 'enough' never seemed to stick. Eventually I just waggled the phone for ages and it stopped asking. Coincidence or not I can't say.

    Post [APP][1.6+] MM Tracker

Hi Frank, 1. The setting for it is under the GPS and Tracking options - Show speed vector. It can be turned off by setting 0 (don't draw). Possibly worth a check. 2. I'd certainly like Direction Up. 3. Good idea if it not too much hassle to create a poll. I guess ease of coding will also come...

    Post [ROM] LeeDrOiD V2.5.0 FINAL | 28th May l Official | Sense/No Sense l FAST l STABLE

No - it's an update for stock, not custom ROMs like LeeDroid. Wait for 2.2g from LeeDroid. Speaking of 2.2g... I'm not pushing and would not hold you to it etc, but is there a rough eta for it? I've just rooted and was soon going to flash 2.2f but if 2.2g is likely to be around in a week or...
