Thread Are both SIM readers enabled in the US Moto G5 Plus (XT1687)?

I noticed that the XT1687 US model has card reader contacts installed at both SIM card positions, but it nominally only supports one SIM card and is bundled with a single-SIM tray. Does anyone know or has anyone tried to use the dual SIM tray with this unit successfully?

    Thread Stuck on modem W84C27MO84

At some point in the past, I flashed the W84C27MO84 modem file that's floating around on XDA. Now, for some reason, I cannot get the stock ATTJB modem to work anymore. Every time I flash it, the phone appears to be unable to start the modem, and I can never get a connection to the cellular...

Thread [REPAIR]Restore IMEI after EFS/NV Corruption (0 IMEI, no EFS backup, etc.)

Preface: What the **** is wrong with this device? I've had two phones in a row lose IMEI information for no apparent reason. I say this because my second device was never flashed with a custom ROM (only rooted) and remained on stock V20J, yet my IMEI was lost at some random point in time. Even...

    Post [q] imei showing "0"

FYI, I was able to fix my IMEI using EFS Professional. It's taken me months to finally figure this out, namely because apparently nobody has looked into the precise procedure in the 3 years since this phone was released. Once you know the tricks, the procedure is pretty straightforward. I'll...

Thread [REPAIR][ROM]LG Official Kitkat 4.4.2[stock] Fix 2G Only / Mobile networks settings

For those of you who activated 2G-only mode in your Mobile Network Settings and can't use that menu anymore due to crashes, there is a relatively easy way to reverse this condition and bring back the menu functionality while untoggling 2G-only mode. 1. Make sure your ROM is rooted (should be...

Post [Q] E970 cannot flash ATT-JB radio or return to stock using LGNPST

I've learned a bit more about the problem and now it's even more confusing. For a start, I think my EFS partitions may have been corrupted. BT MAC address and IMEI are now 0 / unavailable. However, I notice that I can still make calls and access data fine IF I use the W84C27MO84 radio, but not...

Thread [Q] E970 cannot flash ATT-JB radio or return to stock using LGNPST

I'm trying to return to stock after having upgraded my phone to CM12. At first, I tried to flash the ATT-JB radio and the stock JB zip; the JB rom works, but my cellular modem is non-functional. Since then, I've tried flashing the original V10o as well as the V20j TOTs using LGNPST, but flashing...

Thread Windows 10 for Phones System Image

Would anyone be willing and able to create a dump of a clean Windows 10 for Phones system image and share it with me? I searched around in the installation for non-supported devices threads, but did not see a reference to anything. An FFU image extracted from the updater would also work, thanks...

Post [Modem] Hybrid Radios For E970 [2-25-2014]

In call earpiece+dmic fix for stock ATTJB radio: https://copy.com/Vsfxuy9yDJyAIzwD Unzip it. Using a root capable file manager (eg CM11 File Manager), go to /system/lib/hw/ and backup/rename your audio.primary.msm8960.so to audio.primary.msm8960.so.orig (or something). Copy the modified...

Post [Modem] Hybrid Radios For E970 [2-25-2014]

I really don't think this has anything to do with flashing a bin file or a build of Android. I have screenshots from 1 hour ago when I was able to receive LTE on my CM11 install again (after 3 days without it). Then I cycled my cell radio to try to break LTE, which worked. For the record, I...

Post [Modem] Hybrid Radios For E970 [2-25-2014]

Well actually, I've been debugging the LTE issue for the last 2 hours, and I'm fairly certain it is not a hardware / software problem, rather an issue with how T-Mobile grants LTE access at their gateway. My theory is that if T-Mobile does not recognize your device as LTE capable (via IMEI...

Post [Modem] Hybrid Radios For E970 [2-25-2014]

To follow up on this, I recompiled CM11 using modified ACDBIDs for the TMUS earpiece and dmic. The resulting audio.primary.msm8960.so module will use the JB ACDBID values for T-Mobile audio as well, so the stock ATT/JB radio can now have normal audio during calls.

    Post [ROM][CM11.0] OFFICIAL CM11.0 for E970

Dammit, is 4.4 using ACDBID 81 / 91 for the T-Mobile earpiece and dmic devices? That is not compatible with the ATT/JB radio. AFAIK, it is not honored as a use case in the snd_soc_msm sound table, so there's no way for me to configure it. Does this mean I need to recompile from source if I want...

Greetings Gypser, it's unlocked from SD. :) I will try flashing the ATTJB stock radio back now and see if anything happens (I'm not holding my breath on this one). Also, the versionless morrislee radio that I got from someone's Box seems to have high battery drain. I may try 84/33 or 84/27 at...

    Post webOS 3.0.3/3.0.4

3.0.3 isn't particularly great. 3.0.4 on the other hand adds Chinese language localization and IME. It's too bad HP blocked access to the dev server. EDIT: I take that back. The 3.0.3 browser with a stock kernel loads pages about 15% (subjectively) faster than my 3.0.2 browser with F4 @ 1.7...

Post [Q] Getting "No space left" error while installing anything

Hmm. Well, there is meta-doctor which allows you to modify the doctor's partition mapping settings (among other things). I was just curious if something may have gone amiss through using meta-doctor to try to setup an ext3 partition.

Post [Q] warthog installed but can't find it

Full erase through the system menus does not erase many (if not most) of the patches you install, including kernels. Best thing to do would be to use Preware + Save/Restore to create a backup list of all homebrew stuff you install, then restore it after a full erase.

Post [DISCUSSION] The Audio & Video Player Thread

Post [DISCUSSION] The Audio & Video Player Thread

Kalem is just another wrapper for ffmpeg / mplayer. I imagine you could do much more to optimize ffmpeg on this platform. See Moboplayer for Android for a good representation of what CPU decoding can achieve.
