To follow up on this, I recompiled CM11 using modified ACDBIDs for the TMUS earpiece and dmic. The resulting audio.primary.msm8960.so module will use the JB ACDBID values for T-Mobile audio as well, so the stock ATT/JB radio can now have normal audio during calls.

HDMI out only works on the S II. My SGS4G with Valhalla does TV out just fine using a generic camcorder 3.5mm to stereo RCA A/V cable, with the red RCA connector as the video signal out.

Hmm. Well, there is meta-doctor which allows you to modify the doctor's partition mapping settings (among other things). I was just curious if something may have gone amiss through using meta-doctor to try to setup an ext3 partition.

Full erase through the system menus does not erase many (if not most) of the patches you install, including kernels. Best thing to do would be to use Preware + Save/Restore to create a backup list of all homebrew stuff you install, then restore it after a full erase.

Might be able to adapt a better ARM optimized ffmpeg/mplayer binary for use with something like Touchplayer. Sources would be nice, but I didn't get a response from the Moboplayer team.

Kalem is just another wrapper for ffmpeg / mplayer. I imagine you could do much more to optimize ffmpeg on this platform. See Moboplayer for Android for a good representation of what CPU decoding can achieve.

Patch Navit to include the option to use a Bluetooth GPS dongle by grabbing NMEA output over Bluetooth SPP as shown in the code example I linked, which shows JUST THAT. I imagine it would be near to a copy and paste job to get it working.

Looking into it right now. Probably needs a binary patch on LunaSysMgr, someone please correct me if I'm wrong (and I sincerely hope I am).

To both of you who've successfully paired your GPS dongles, does GPS show up as an available location service? If not, it shouldn't be particularly difficult to make a patch.

Install Preware and get Navit. The app works fine in fullscreen and either orientation. Just let us know if you manage to get your dongle working. :)

I just received a replacement to my defective Motorola Defy, so I was wondering if I could use System Recovery to make a backup to transfer my apps, data, and settings from the old phone to the new one without any compatibility problems.

No, they agreed to send me a replacement unit first and then have me ship my entire original phone, SD Card + box and all accessories, back to them. I will need to reset my original phone and transfer my stuff over to my new phone, which I'll do using a recovery.

Well, my TMobile USA Defy's speaker just died today. I've used it for about a month and a half now, it was an early production Defy. Time to deal with Motorola.

I get some moisture around the USB plug hole even when the cover is in place as well. Probably not a big deal. You can try using some grease to improve the seal as well. Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
