Post Best place to buy new in Nov. 2016?

I've been using the KatKiss "KatshMallow" ROM (Marshmallow 6.0.1) on my TF701 and it is working great. The only caveat is that it doesn't support exFat, so I had to format my MicroSD card with NTFS.

Post replaced tf701 with Chuwi Hi12

While I loved a lot of the tech you could get in China, I always had one big worry about Android devices: what sort of firmware upgrades could you expect? I also wanted Google software, and it was a lot of extra work to get it running. How long have you had the Chuwi tablet?

Post Is it worth buying a 701 now?

I still use mine daily, but as a media consumption device -- reading articles saved via Pocket, or watching videos. You can get better tablets for gaming (e.g. the Nvidia Shield), but I remember a year ago considering a replacement while getting my TF701 repaired, and there was nothing on the...

The same way you change wallpaper. Press and hold on the Home screen (anywhere on the wallpaper where there isn't an icon), and when you release, the "Manage home" menu should come up. Select Wallpapers, which will bring up the "Set wallpaper" menu. The second option should be "Lock screen".

    Post [Q] Battery drain

It turns out after months of trouble that this was a hardware problem -- a loose connection between the battery and the motherboard! When I had the aluminum back of my tablet replaced last year because of a dent, the technician did not put in new, double-sided tape to secure the battery to the...

Post [Q] Keyboard Dock Messing up screen when closed

I've experienced the same thing. I assumed it was because the surface of my tablet wasn't perfectly flat but instead slightly concave. I get the same problem if I put my tablet in a certain case in my backpack without the keyboard dock -- this apparently puts pressure on the screen with the...

It's probably been quiet because this build is working so well! I don't think I've noticed that problem with the stock browser -- but then I've mainly been using Dolphin.

    Post Gaming frustrations

When the Google Play Store says an app is "not compatible" with your device, it doesn't necessarily mean your device is incapable of running it. I think it is more likely that our TF701T is not on a whitelist of devices tested and approved by the developer. The fact that the TF701T did not sell...

    Post [ROM]★[TF701T-Asus Stock Rooted][KK 4.4.2 DEODEX/ODEX 11.4.1.29][Jan 11]★

Thanks for quickly putting that up. I think the older kernel was contributing to battery drain, because I noticed after flashing that Google Play Services was once again the biggest battery-draining app under Power Management.

Thanks sbdags. I hate to reveal my ignorance, but why does it look like the kernel in this version is older than the one in the rooted stock rom posted by himineu several days ago? (Oct. 17 as opposed to Dec. 18, 3.4.66-ge79544a)

    Post [Q] Battery drain

Unfortunately, the cause of the drain has temporarily become moot for me, because I left my tablet in my backpack for several hours and it drained COMPLETELY. Now I can't charge it at all. After connecting it to a charger overnight, it still showed 0% battery, and initially in Settings/Battery...

Post [Q] Buy the TF701 or......wait for a newer model?

The OP mentions he may need to be able to read and write to USB keys and SD cards, for which the TF701 and dock would be much more convenient. None of the Nexus tablets has a card slot, and to read flash drives you'd need to install a third-party file browser and use a USB OTG adaptor. I'm...

Post BIG WARNING before you buy an Asus android devices

It seems like every ROM and kernel thread for Asus tablets on XDA warns you about this, so I don't know how you missed it. Post are the specs of tf701t better than xperia z 2 tablet?

Post New Firmware & Kernel Update! April 18 - 10.26.1.28

This doesn't seem to be on the Asus website -- the latest version there is still from January (V10.26.1.18). Does anyone know where we can download a flashable version for those of us who are unlocked?
  23. D

    Post Should I get one

But if you get the z2, max resolution is only 1920 x 1200, while the high-end Asus and Samsung tablets have 2560 x 1600, which gives a higher dots per inch than Apple's Ipad... That may not be important if you want a tab mainly for gaming or video, but for me reading was paramount, and for that...

    Post [MOD] JB 4.3+ | TF701T | Flashable Root Method v2 | Asus Stock 10.26.1.7/18

I suspect that -- in spite of what Asus and many on this board have said -- the majority of units have not been defective, including those that were made both before and after the 2013.11 batch that was supposed to be "fixed." In other words, there were good units made before the "fix", and...

Post [Q] Help wanted: Update TF201 to Android 4.3 (or 4.4)

In other words, the ROM in the OP supports all the function keys, INCLUDING the Disable...

Your statements sound completely wrong to me. Of course you can root without unlocking the bootloader. I have rooted two phones and my TF201, all without unlocking; I rooted the TF201 soon after buying it, and only unlocked the bootloader more than a year later. Rooting doesn't force you to...

    Post Android 4.3 on TF201

I've tried some of the 4.3 ROMs -- specifically, Namidairo's non-official CM 10.2 linked above, as well as the PAC-man ROM. Both ran well, but the lack of support for the keyboard dock's function keys made me switch to a 4.2 ROM, Androwook. I'm hoping someone eventually adds the support...
