Did you try to install any other superuser apps? SuperSU or Superuser by ChainsDD? You should remove those apps before flashing.

No. In the embedded Superuser app, I had Superuser Access set to Apps and ADB, and Automatic Response set to Automatically allow new requests, and it still wouldn't work. It was only after flashing the latest Superuser zip that I got root access. This is with the 8/14 build.

No, the other MIUI v5 ROM was also a port from the One S, a device without an LTE modem. Unless sun_dream manages to port the necessary modules and drivers for the One X's LTE components, this ROM will not have LTE.
