Thanks for the reply. I just found a post using Google about removing the apk from a stock rom so I'll probably just do that: "U can use 7zip and open /system/app and /data/app and delete or drag and drop apks as long as u open the rom as an archive" This was posted in this thread...

Absolutely love this rom, but I have a question regarding the missing default HTC apps that worked with the Scribe pen. I used the Reader app all the time to highlight epubs. Does anyone know how I can get that app back? Or if there are any alternatives I'm open to suggestions!

You got my hopes up... By this I thought you meant all I need is HC to be installed. But looking at these options on the market, they all require root access. Did you mean that I could write a HC ROM on top of my OTA HC update? Please clarify. Thanks!

So, I guess the best option for me if I decide to would be, downgrade to GB, and then upgrade to a rooted HC rom, then install one of these toolbar hiders. These all require root access, correct?

Yeah that kinda stinks. I wish the margins in HTC's reader app weren't so huge. It might actually be tolerable if I could adjust them.

While DigitalMD is obviously a key member to the community his sarcasm and degrading forum posts do get annoying. (Don't take this the wrong way DigitalMD) I completely agree with you about the HC update. Why HTC didn't provide the option to remove the lower bar and place the buttons back on...

Yeah that is something that's driving me crazy in HC. When I'm reading in Aldiko the fact that the taskbar is visible is really annoying. It doesn't allow you to get as involved in the book as you can without the bar.
