I'm currently typing this on the XTZ and I can tell you that everything you've heard about the Wi-Fi is absolutely true. It works well when there's a strong signal but when the signal starts to get weak the tablet has a hard time holding on to the signal. I hope the next update will fix this issue.

My understanding is that CDMA doesn't use removable SIM cards, it's the advent of LTE that's moving the CDMA networks to SIM cards (although, apparently the HTC EVO LTE lacked a removable SIM).

Man, I wish I was getting 20Mbps on HSPA+! Still the speeds are more than adequate to keep my music streaming on high quality so I'm happy.

My area is actually pretty saturated with LTE, but I still I tried both fast and epc. The speeds were the same.

I spend most of my time in LTE areas. That said, some LTE areas are still under 10Mbps, especially around Baltimore.

Actually #1 is no longer true. They've since changed their unlocking method and folks, including myself, are now rocking SIM unlocked phones. In fact, I successfully used a T-Mobile SIM in my Sprint-unlocked HTC One (GSM data only and very spotty coverage).
