Post Bootloop after OTA update (6/22) bone stock

You can try odin (v3.13.1) flashing the BL and/or AP from T-Mobile's firmware https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=746163614322275144 (Don't mess with the CP or CSC). If you do that without the nand erase option checked, this should let you boot up and recover user data that's not backed up. worst...

    Post ODIN3 v3.13 Fails SW REV Check Fail (Fused 4 > 3)

Not sure, it's different for each carrier. I hope you have backups, at least an adb backup. Samsung cloud backup does a decent job too. If you have a recent backup, it might be easier to factory resset, and then restore. If you don't have any backup, you risk losing all your data. You can try...

    Post ODIN3 v3.13 Fails SW REV Check Fail (Fused 4 > 3)

That FAIL: 4 > Binary 3 means you need a Firmware with bootloader V4. Once you're on v4, you can't go back to v3. G955USQU4CRE9 is an example of a firmware with BL v4.

FYI: I was coming from Stock 7.0 (rooted, BL v1) to this one (BL v3). After flashing, It would only boot to recovery in a broken loop (not able to factory reset), or DL mode. In order to fix this I had to use Odin 3.13.1 and install stock BL v3 firmware (G955USQU3CRD4), then install this rooted...

you need to convert the system.img.ext4 with*simg2img. I deleted those firmware files earlier. But I think it would just be a band-aid. I think there's something wrong with your system software, or it's not correct. It would probably be more stable and better in the long run if you took a TB...

I'm not on Sprint, but I see the samsung voicemail app in the firmware I just linked to, in /system/priv-app/SecVVM_dream/. do you have a voicemail icon in the bottom left of the stock dialer? I also see the Sprint visual voicemail app in /system/carrier/SPR/priv-app/VisualVoicemail/. So if you...

 ...right, I know. you need all the signed elf and mbn files in the BL archive, except non-hlos, for your device to actually use the bootloader. you can try it a different way, or test this if you'd like to. It's either going to take or not. All I'm saying is it doesn't work for me.

Nope, I have an S8+ from AT&T too. I just used the "old part 2" process. Some others on AT&T have use the current process with no problems. Smart Switch doesn't work for me either. I believe that problem is caused by the bootimage/build fingerprint. ---------- Post added at 12:20 ----------...

I can recall this issue has happened to ppl in two situations. Either they didn't use or didn't have "Wipe" first when flashing a system.img with Flashfire, or they used the wrong firmware. There may be other Software related issues that also could cause this. If you're green on those two, then...

It's a real 80%. I thought it was a fake 80% at first too. The boot img leads you to believe that it gets down scaled to 8/10. But after some testing between stock and eng boot, I've come to the conclusion that it actually gets capped at 80. stock boot will charge to 100%. Eng boot just stops...

Possibly, if it's a corrupt install or something. you could test it by doing just a FF wipe. you'll definitely know if it works or not. I'm just not sure if you'll keep root. you could create a flashable zip (for FF) to do the wiping for you. I would give the options in my last post a try...

That an option too, albeit a little more difficult. extract your system.img.ext4 file from AP firmware, copy to phone. if you don't have it, it's probably on androidfilehost somewhere. then use FF with wipe first, then system.img.ext4 (as firmware), then SU (as zip) check system rw, same thing...

Yup, should've wiped. that'd be the cause of your issues. So you ended up installing a stock system on top of an eng system. If you redo part 2 verbatim, that should fix your system issues.

You've probably got double system app(s)/file(s) somewhere. Was wipe at the top of your Flashfire list, when you did part 2? Do you have any duplicates in your Titanium (or similar) app list? You could dig through your logs to find the culprit, but it might be worth (or easier) just starting...

This works on all S8+ manufactured for the US. It'll most likely be model SM-G955U. If your bought if from your carrier, they're all basically the same, no matter which carrier. So yes, this works on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, etc. as long as it matches the model in the op. This is model...

others and I have already tried messing around in the area. The only way I've been able to charge to 100% is through user boot (stock). Sounds like you have old or slow computer. Usually takes a minute to verify the md5. You can try opening the AP file with regular Odin, step away, and come back in 5 minutes. If it's still frozen up after 5mins, you can try retarring it with 7-zip or the like. There's a few different ways to...
