Usually android development has roms and original development has kernels and modems and all that stuff just make sure the rom you're trying to flash is for your carrier or it won't work and will probably brick your phone unless you get lucky then you just wont get service or you'll get stuck in...

When you go into recovery and flash your not actually reflashing the rom when you flash and aroma comes up choose the install mods and choose which ones you want but you might wanna read through this thread first cuz im mot sure but I think I read on one of the pages that some of the mods dont...

When you flash this thru recovery aroma is what comes up to give you install options for the roms and mods its not an app you can run from android and make sure if u didnt already flash the rom choose default install and then when u flash it reboot to recovery and choose mods instead of default...
