The latest 3.02 update for the S9 on DTC5, unroots the device (at least on mine). Flashing magisk through twrp, has no effect. I even tried uninstalling magisk with the zip uninstaller but still couldn't get root to appear. Flashing 3.00 solved the problem Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

Assuming you have installed super su,there is a clean up option in the settings.

With xposed framework installed, install gravity box. The last options in the list (something about Mediatek) are exactly what you need. I had the same problem as you and even tweaked the database in the system that controls the animations. Sadly it didn't work, but gravity box cured (!) that.

I don't think that thl has a counter like Samsung has, so just flashing the original you are ok.
