I have the same phone. Same security patch. I've been beating my head against walls for months trying to get this thing rooted. Seems unless we can find a way to crack the unlock.bin file, we're screwed.

That's so awesome to hear. I've tried ROM after ROM and none of them impress me. So sad that this phone stopped being developed regularly when it clearly has a lot of life left in it. Especially since I upgraded the battery to 6700mah. :|

I'm running on SM-G928T (says SM-G928C now) and everything works fine except for not having any sound during calls. Sound works fine for media but on phone no sound from the phone and no sound on my bluetooth headset. Stock kernel. Maybe that's the problem...

You should have access to adb in recovery mode. Make sure you're running the latest usb/serial drivers.
