It's possible. Definitely not easy (there are ~10 files that need modifications), but I ported it to the S3 back when it originally came out S5. It's a lot of copy pasting more than modifying existing smali honestly

That's not exactly how it works, his aboot wasn't modified in the process. He simply flashed a signed kernel created for internal use that gives you slightly more control over the system.

It's an engineering boot.img (kernel+some init scripts), not aboot (bootloader). Flashing it won't let you flash unsigned images. We need an engineering aboot for that. The good news is that since a boot.img was leaked, chances are the aboot could get leaked too

Yea I tried various methods too until I gave up and just cracked it open. The issue is that it uses a native library to check for root and since Xposed can't hook into native libraries those apps don't work

You don't need an image from the rom you were running, you need an image for the firmware you were on. What was the last touchwiz version that you were running/last update that you took? That's the version of the debrick image that you need to find.

Post a logcat too. It'll help pinpoint exactly where the issue is and the smali will tell us how you can fix it

It might be packaged in another partition or contained within the bootloader if you cannot find it inside the initramfs. It's hard to say without being familiar with the files that you are working with.
