I was already unlocked and tried to run that command earlier and it didn't work at all, as in, didn't like the syntax at all. I updated my fastboot and ran it just now on my already unlocked device: fastboot flashing unlock ... (bootloader) Device already : unlocked! OKAY [ 0.020s]...

fastboot flash recovery twrp.img didn't work. Fails with the unknown command error. fastboot flash:recovery twrp.img doesn't work because it doesn't like the syntax.

Same fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.1-0-h830.img target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes sending 'recovery' (19560 KB)... OKAY [ 0.488s] writing 'recovery'... FAILED (remote: unknown command) finished. total time: 0.516s I wonder if we need to put the phone into download mode...

I'll be able to test at about 7PM tonight.

I've already planned on buying a case. I would think a case would hold it together tight enough :D

Almost sounds like the system was formatted when it was in twrp in your pocket. Reflash the rom from twrp. Should be able to use USB while in the recovery.

So, I just wanted to update this thread. Finally got it working after installing the latest superSU and busybox from TWRP. Then I used an Ubuntu 64 bit machine with 32 bit libraries installed and rumrunner 0.3.1. This time it finally went through without any issues and I'm S-OFF.

It always seems to start that section before I can even get to change it to Disk Drive, so it starts, then you break the connection by making the switch, causing it to error out. I just tried unplugging device right after starting test 2 when it says "waiting for ADB" and then waiting for phone...

What happens when you don't switch to disk drive? That typically breaks the usb connection for a split second and I know mine errors out right away when I do that every time. Take that suggestion with a grain of salt because I don't get much further than you in it :(

You didn't mention it so, do you have a customer recovery and root as well as the dev unlock?

It wasn't supposed to be so much trouble :D In all seriousness though, the ROM I was on kept reporting there wasn't an update for TWRP(from within goomanager) and I knew that there was. So I went with the manual install method and made a typo. A very costly one.

Alright, well I screwed up flashing the newer version of TWRP. Instead of running the command dd if=/sdcard/twrp.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p22 I ended up screwing it up and running dd if=/sdcard/twrp.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 I then entered the command correctly, rebooted my device. Now...

What do you mean? TWRP worked just fine for me(the latest version the KF Utility installs). I wiped cache, dalvik, factory reset, and system. Then I used the flash multiple zips feature to flash the rom and gapps back to back. All the GAPPS work fine here.
