I went into settings->apps on my eris and it ends up showing a large negative number for the amount of space used so something is getting misreported or having trouble lol. Doubtful that I'll be pushing things to CM since I'm not building from their source but feel free to push/use whatever. The only reason these old legacy phones have anything past froyo is the greatness that is open source. :)

For the eris/heroc/hero, the two audio libs, audio.primary.DEVICE and audio_policy.DEVICE are currently being built from the device repos so the hero repo would need updated for jellybean. Those lib changes are based on updates to libhardware_legacy in jellybean so without looking and testing...

You're right, thanks for pointing that out. The logcat showed that I needed to build and include the make_ext4fs binary so the android secure section of the sdcard can be created. It does work now with it. I'll add a flashable zip to the OP which will install make_ext4fs and gps.desirec.so...

Re-download the ROM from the OP and see if it's working for the melfas touchscreen.

Ok, that makes me think that the melfas screens need the extra legacy touchscreen support that I hadn't added since mine was working fine. I'll try and get a new build for you to test soon.

As far as I know, both the synaptics and melfas screens should work. I don't have a melfas one to test with though so you might have to be the guinea pig.

That option is annoying and shouldn't be the default behavior. To turn it off open up the Play Store, go to the menu -> settings -> uncheck the auto-add widgets option.

It has some issues here and there but overall it's running fairly well. Others who use their Eris more than me can expand on that since my gnex can make it hard to judge objectively :)

As roirraW said, it is a major challenge to get hw acceleration working in any form with so many things standing in the way. No proprietary gpu libs built for ICS, a very outdated gpu that doesn't have opengl es 2.0 support, and the multitude of kernel updates to try and get things to play nice...

The camcorder is still broken on 8x50 devices, n1/dinc/evo4g. It looks like it is due to stagefright/omx encoding problems when examining the logs. While I would love to help out on the Eris side, I'm far from being a kernel dev and right now just trying to catch up and learn enough to get a .35 kernel going for the Eris. Very appreciative to have your source along with jaybob's for heroc to look at and use.

Oh ok, thanks for figuring that out. That also clears up why the HAL that gets built with Evervolv doesn't give the preview. I'll add that in to our qcom/camera repo with an ifdef so the other devices we build for won't also need to include it. Thanks again!

I can't say that I'm at all familiar with GSM phones or porting a ROM but do you need to replace the /system/etc/apns-conf.xml file to one that has info for your carrier? Also possibly the eri.xml in frameworks-res.apk so the carrier info is displayed correctly on the lockscreen and such.

Yeah, the problem only occurs when the brightness widget is chosen to be used in the notification toolbox. Assuming I remember to fix that piece of code, the next build won't have that issue. This is due to the memory leaking which is even worse when "fixes" for barcode scanning and panorama...

Hmm, that's odd. The camera.msm7k.so that gets built is using rapmv78's source...wonder what jaybob and I both have done that gives a broken preview. Might be due to the prebuilt libcamera we are using. Guess I'll play around some.
