Root is not needed for flash the rom. You need to unlock the bootload as explained here , next you have to flash the TWRP recovery and than from TWRP you must flash the ROM + GAPPS and do a wipe. currently i am using the rom version "lineage-14.1-20170705-UNOFFICIAL-cherry". If i want to upgrade to version "lineage-14.1-20170808-UNOFFICIAL-cherry", can i simply flash the rom without do any wipe (so without loosing any installed app?
