Pretty much all screens use a standard polarizer, the Pixel 2 phones use circular polarization, however if it was the polarizer you would expect it on the Pixel 2 non-XL model as well, so I don't think it is the polarizer, but who knows, maybe it is an interaction between the circular polarizer...

I had it working fine with the latest 6.0 and systemless using the modified boot.img and supersu2.56, I tried doing the OTA to the 6.0.1 build by reverting to stock recovery and stock boot.img but nothing worked so I wiped and fastboot flashed 6.0.1 and followed the newest systemless directions...

I had 0 problems just downloading the file from AFH and installing it as a zip in TWRP just like you would any other zip or ROM, didn't lose any data, only lost root which I got back by letting TWRP restore it and installing SuperSU.

As of now I definitely would not say that it's unlocked, but they have gotten TWRP on it which is always a step in the right direction.

I have found that switching from the OnDemand governor to Interactive has fixed my reboot and SOD issues, haven't had one in over a week when I was getting multiple a day. I do still get occasional lag/lockups that go away after sleeping then waking the phone back up.
