So you need to pass safetynet so you don't have to reflash it? Edit: Sorry, i totally missed that conversation, thanks. So if i read this correctly, using LOS recovery, there's no way to make it survive OTA update? That would be a bit of a bummer.

Is there some way to install Magisk so you don't have to reflash it after each official OTA update?

Switched recovery from TWRP to LOS and flashed official 17.1 over official 16.0 on dumpling, worked like clockwork. Very nice work T1mb3, thank you so much!

Thanks T1mb3 for keeping dumpling alive! What are the odds one could dirty flash this over official LOS16.0?

Yes, that's the one I'm currently on. Is there any point to flashing it again? The weird thing is, i had no issues whatsoever with reception in LOS 15.1.

Are there really no I9195 users with well working firmware out there? :crying:

For those of you not having issues with the modem, what firmware version are you using? My modem seems to have issues coping with changing channel conditions. Every few days it indicates no network service and i either have to go into the settings to manually select the carrier, at whcih point...

So after about 1 1/2 days i would say that this has cured my issues, cell service is *much* more reliable with that baseband version. I'm using the most current build (July) and i haven't had a crash yet. I installed completely from scratch, though.

I think there are a few that are newer by 1 or two months but they're still all from 2017. I think Samsung just stopped updating the device firmware at that point.

I was able to flash it using heimdall. Worked pretty flawlessly. Shut down, took out the battery, wated for 10 secs, put the battery back in then booted into download mode. From there flash worked like a charm.

Ok so after finding this thread, i went ahead and flashed I9195XXUCQL2. So far it works well, but I'll report back once I'm sure that it actually fixed the cell service dropping out when switching between cells.

As some others have mentioned, i too have some issues with the radio, sometimes after i relocate from one service cell to another, it tells me that there is no service (manually choosing the provider sometimes helps, sometimes only a complete reboot helps). Is there some kind of list of firmware...

I installed from scratch and it works like a charm. Thanks for the input! And big thanks to Arne for maintaining serrano!

Can anybody tell me how mature 16.0 is compared to 15.1? I'm considering to move to 16.0, but it's a bit hard to distill that out of 90+ pages of this thread. Btw. is there any good documentation on how to migrate app data between flashing new versions? I managed to royally screw myself when i...
