My Fire HD8 8th gen received an OS update to 6.3.1.4 and now it's no longer detected by my PC when I plug it in. I've tried re-enabling USB debug in the dev options. The update also reverted me back to the Fire Launcher, so I was hoping to run the toolbox to disable it again.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't realize you can knock the status bar to lock.
It's definitely a good temporary measure that I'll be using for now. Unfortunately, my hands can't comfortably reach the status bar to knock it, so I'll still be on the look out for a way to add a lock button to the...
My previous phone was a HTC One (M8) and the HTC software gave me the option to add a lock button in the navigation bar. I've grown very used to having one right there and I miss it this handy feature with my new LG G6, particularly because the hardware lock button is less accessible.
Is there...
But even when Moto releases 4.4, we still have to wait for our service providers to pass it through don't we? Though it does mean we'll potentially get a ROM of 4.4 before the service providers get it through, am I correct?
Did you install the P925 or P920 (Optimux 3D) version of CM? If you're on a GB baseband, make sure you install the P920 version and NOT the P925 version. I had the same problem.
I may or may not have one of those. If you've followed my thread you could probably tell me more about my phone that I know myself lol. I've taken a picture of the phone. There's a series of numbers/letters across the bottom of it that are kind of interesting...
NCS cannot read my phone's IMEI, it says "IMEI Failed" in the Basic Info. When I punch the *#06# in my phone it says "Failed" as well.
I can't get the phone out of flight mode (probably because of this!). Has this happened to anyone?! I believe my phone is some sort of developer model. There...
I just tried updating via the cab sender. I managed to get the first two sets of cabs (8112 and 8773) done successfully but the OEM cab did not work. I got the error code 80180048. Dammit!
Tried updating via Zune but it keeps saying it's unable to connect to the servers. I'm going to try...
I can't do anything in refurbish cause NCS doesn't detect my phone's product code so it can't look up any updates for it.
I CAN hit recovery and after going through all the steps my phone restarts when I hit "Start" in NCS recovery. NCS waits for a while then that damn instruction screen pops up.
I have the same problem, but it wasn't after flashing. My phone locked up after trying to use Endomondo so I did a reset. After that, my phone has been stuck in flight mode. I'm running:
OS version: 8107.WM7_Main_ship(mojobld).20111207-2014
Firmware: 1600.2473.7720.11400
Hardware revision...
Do your phones have the DLOAD bootloader or Qualcomm?
My phone is stuck on an old version but has the QC bootloader. I've been trying forever to get NCS to update my phone but I don't believe I can use NCS cause it's the QC. I just wanna confirm my suspicion.
I'll give that a go. I've been considering three options:
1) Custom ROM
2) Update using cabs
3) NSS to DLOAD
I'm leaning towards the cabs cause I really just want a stock phone and the custom ROM stuff seems a bit ..dangerous. The NSS seems straightforward but everything on it appears to be...
:)
Yes, please do elaborate. I'd like to convert the Qualcomm bootloader on my 800 to the DLOAD.

I have the QC bootloader on my phone and I'm having a heck of a time trying to upgrade it to the Tango...
Yup it's a similar screen. I've got the latest version of NCS and it has nice graphics but it's essentially the same.
The screen keeps popping up when I follow the instructions. It just doesn't pick my phone up. I've tried doing it holding vol up + power and holding JUST vol up while plugging...
I still can't get NCS to recognize the device :(. Here are the steps I follow:
1) Turn off phone (make sure USB is unplugged)
2) Hold vol up + power
3) Wait for short vibrate
4) Let go of both buttons
5) Connect USB
6) Hit "start" in NCS (already have the product opened etc.)
7) Menu keeps...
Lol shucks. Microsoft updates are blocked at my work :(. The IT guys don't want us updating our own computers. I think I'm going to have to wait till lunch time to try this.
Recovered through NCS? I'm trying that but it doesn't work. I think it might have to do with NCS not being able to find my phone's product code. It refuses to flash the device since it can't match my non-existent product code to the firmware's product code. Is there another method of flashing?
I'll give the NCS a couple more tries...maybe it's just the timing I'm getting wrong.
Edit: I forgot to rename the three files initially :P, that's be rectified but I'm presented with another problem now...
One more update for the night before I hit the sack: I got the Everything Everywhere...
I can't get NCS to recognize the device. I've been trying to following the instructions in the Tango thread and the thread on how to flash a dead Lumia.
I've also tried doing it from NCS with my phone on. None of these methods seem to be working. Windows picks up my phone and the "format disk"...
Thank you so much for looking into that for me! I'm going to attempt the Tango update that was put up the other day when I get home tonight. Fingers crossed...
P.S. Done resetting...I've given up...stupid airplane mode...
Ohhh, i see.
This phone is nuts. I just want to restore it to stock firmware but I'm kind of scared that it might somehow brick the phone. Although...it's now stuck on the NOKIA logo and won't boot up...earlier the phone was stuck in airplane mode. I haven't even tried flashing anything on it...
What hardware are you running? Does it happen to be the same as mine?
Poked around a bit more and I realized my phone has apps that let me mess with the registry etc. (QC BSP Services). It also has a bunch of apps that start with "z" and seem to have access to root things in the phone (zBig...
I think I'll follow your advice and go with the official software. I feel like I've had my fill of custom ROMs with my last 3 Android devices.
Before I attempt this though, what is this I hear about "cabs"? Is that just a packaged and ready to go version of what is out on NaviFirm+?
Is the phone easily recoverable if things don't go smoothly? I made a backup using the WP7 Easy Backup Tool...but I'm still too scared to update the phone with anything haha...
I tried following the instructions for the Windows Support Tool (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2530409) but upon...
The product code is 059L8X9 (Type RM-801). Does it matter that my hardware revision is the older one (112.1402.2.2)? Can I still flash other versions of Tango on it?
I ran NCS and it couldn't find my product code or any software updates. I couldn't refurbish it.
Edit: Apparently Zune DID find...

When I plug it into my computer, Windows picks up the new hardware as "RM-801|Nokia lumia 800". Is there any other way...
asmanthebell, will this work with all Lumia 800s?
I purchased one last night and I came to XDA to see what I can do with the thing. My phone has currently has the OS version as "8107.WM7_Main_ship(mojobld).20111207-2014". I did a bit of digging and couldn't find much on it.
I've been an avid...
I bought a used Lumia 800 last night. The OS version on it is "8107.WM7_Main_ship(mojobld).20111207-2014"
I can't seem to find much info on it, but from what I gather, this is a developer model? Can this phone be updated to the latest OS version? My phone tells me it's already on the latest OS...
Android 2.2.1 dumped!
Some good news over at rootzwiki. Android has been dumped and is available for download over here: http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?t=3692.
Maybe the Class 4 is actually running slower than the manufacturer claims. That and Class 4 is the bare minimum for A2SD and Data2ext. I've got an 8GB Class 6 that runs more like a Class "5"...Data2ext still lags quite a bit for me whenever I'm opening a new app or accessing the memory card to...
I got this thing working on a 8GB Class 6 card (read ~4.5MB/s, write ~13MB/s). My quadrant score is ~1350 and it feels just as "snappy" as it was before the data2ext. However, when I try to install apps from the market it takes a REALLY long time to download/install. The system also crawls...
My question is...is the read speed more important for the microSD or the write speed? My 8GB Class 6 A-Data memory card gives me about 4.5MB/s write and 13MB/s read. :( shoulda gone with the Transcend...
I'm no pro either but I'll give it a go. In terms of speed it seems the general consensus is that a Class 4 is the minimum. If you're not sure what class your microSD is you can try using one of these applications to measure it...
If you're posting in the Legend forum then most likely you'll have people recommending the Legend :P. I previously had the HTC Magic (mytouch3g) for about a year and loved it. I upgraded to the Xperia X10 for 2 weeks then sold it for the Legend..and I couldn't be happier!
The system feels much...
