Great job. I hope you post a link to the download for people who need it. My previous phone was a Note 4 where it was working fine (Android 5.1). I did a Google backup on it, and then when I set up my Pixel 2 XL, I restored from the Note 4 backup and it is working fine on my Pixel 2 XL.

You are right. Much easier on an iPhone to transfer to a new iPhone. Android sucks when getting a new phone although Google tried to make it a little easier in the Pixel.

My Tracks not showing the map. I know it's been deprecated by Google, but it still is working on my LG G4 and for a lot of other people. It shows a circle with a dot in it showing my GPS is working but not the map.

I am running a rooted Note 4 on Android 5.1.1 and the map in My Tracks no longer shows up for me either. My tracks still worked on my LG G4 with 6.0.1. I think My Tracks is still tracking but doesn't show my actual track on the map.

I figured out what I was doing wrong in FX File Explorer and was able to rename Otacerts.zip” to “Otacerts.zip.bak. After rebooting, I am still getting prompted to install the system update.

The instructions I have to stop the prompt to update to MM is to to System Folder > Etc > Security and rename “Otacerts.zip” to “Otacerts.zip.bak”. However, when I try to rename it, I get "access is denied." I am using FX File Explorer with the root add on. I'm on 5.1.1.

What is the easiest was to Backup LG G4 Android 6.0.1 and restore to GN4 Android 5.1.1? Right now I'm downloading all the app updates on the GN4 from the Play Store. Once this process completes, I need a way to backup the data and apps from the LG G4 and restore to the GN4. Helium didn't work...

Although it didn't seem very warm to me, I pulled the battery and let it sit for an hour. When I started it back up, everything was fine. However, how do I re-enable the use of the SD card. I am afraid if I put in back in, I'll go back into the boot loop?

That improved the situation. It is no longer in a constant boot loop, but it will still reboot when I manually start it or reboot it. When it starts it says "unfortunately KNOX has stopped running." It was doing that before, too. I have confirmed I have root and and unlocked bootloader.

I just bought a Note 4 after seeing the Note 7. I haven't had a Note since the 1 and 2 versions, and I miss it. I just hope I can root it after updating to 6.0

I've been missing having a Note since my Note 2. After just watching the unveiling of the Note 7, I was underwhelmed especially for the price. So I broke down and ordered a Note 4. After I update it to Android 6, will it still be rootable? I also want to remove all the bloatware.

I agree. Samsung took the easy way out. A lot of "leaks" along the way (6gb, Android 7, etc.), but it is a S7 Edge with a stylus.

The 10 is a great phone, but the thing that was going to push me into buying it finally was the chance of unlocking the bootloader and being able to use it on Verizon. If I have to get a phone where the bootloader is unlockable, I'm going to wait for the Note 6.

You're lucky you live in an area where you have decent coverage on someone other than Verizon.

The Nexus 6P was allowed on the Verizon network, and I thought its bootloader has been unlocked so why wouldn't Verizon allow the HTC 10 unlocked version on their network?

Sprint may require a different phone because of their LTE Plus requirement which Verizon doesn't. The other possibility is I don't know what I'm talking about.

I am difficulty deciding, too, but for different reasons than you. I am on Verizon, and the consensus seems to be the bootloader unlocked version for AT&T will work with Verizon. The price is more or less of a wash because I wouldn't have to pay the activation fee (hopefully.) The Uh-Oh...

As someone already mentioned, only available in silver. Price point is good, though, $548 with payments. Is anyone else seeing this price with payments? It might be an employee discount, but VZW has never given me an employee discount on phones before.
