Does it tell you that the tablet has been changed or that there are no updates? If it is the first one, its probably because its rooted. If it is the later one i dont really know what could cause it, might be a branded tablet or something. Never been without Root so i have never done OTA updates...

When i try to flash this recovery it tells me that my device is a GT-5110, when it is a GT-5120. Everything else flashes fine (except Flexnote from Civato, that is the reason i need a newer recovery :p)

I would try and get it replaced under warranty but i guess they will tell you its your own fault etc.. If you still want the rubber straps, i would suggest, buy new ones on ebay and then get the cheapest `copter` displayfilm you can find and cut it to fit the buckle, should not have any more...

I get GPS-lock when i have the phone in my pocket without problems, tho i have never (that i can think of) tried around tall buildings tho. But around my town with about mostly 3-4 story buildings there arent any problems. As for the app i havent been able to test it at all yet, waiting for it...

I am not sure what killed my digitizer/screen so I cant say if it was a magnatic case or not. I have used a magnetic case on my Note, but not a original one.

I use a Galaxy S3 and a Galaxy S3 Mini, first one as my main personal phone, and the second as my workphone, even tho i have the 4G version of the Note8.0 i dont see myself beeing able to use it as my main phone only because of its size.

I would suggest, using mobile odin, flashing the working 4.2.2 MH1 firmware, but removing all the data but the modem. since the MH1 modem worked on your providers 4G it should work just as well on MH2. Then you would not have to redo the procedure of choosing WCDMA. Or did it fix the problem...

You could use Tasker and set it to use WiFi networks to set the volumes etc.

The Note 8.0 with 3G or LTE can be used as a phone without any trouble, as long as you dont mind looking like a strange person with a 8 inch phone to your ear (or just use a headset :p). It does not have a tablet UI, since the notificationbar comes down from the top, not the lower right corner...
