Yes , you can download download themes which include fonts and apply the fonts only. It's often also possible to just download fonts from the play store and install them via the theme manager, using the left swipe tab > Fonts.

Probably the most stable 5.1 ROM i have ever flashed on my device. Smooth, good battery life, great features, very few bugs. Didn't like the fact that it came with ASUS Launcher and live paper bloat, but that was quickly removed ;).

You have to use a third party app to change advanced kernel settings. I'd recommend kernel Adiutor.

So it's not a wakelocking issue? It may also be google play services issue , it has been giving a lot of problems lately , maybe try an updates gapps package

If you go to settings > Battery > Battery graph , does it show the phone actually sleeps? (the "awake" bar) I attached a screenshot , if the bar is compleatly highlighted , this means the phone does not go in sleep. If this is not the case , i suspect something is wrong with you battery.

Could you post some screenshots of Wakelock detector and some general things like Screen on time etc ? would help us out troubleshooting your problem :)
