General observations You can do this the way Gunnar explains. Or you can use Rom Manager to bypass the whole fake flash situation by, loading up rom manager after you use this one click method, which might I add is very slick, easy, and dummy proof. Nice work Gunnman! So yeah open rom manager...

You are 100% correct sir. Whenever you are running morfic's ext4 kernels, you always have to reflash the kernel after flashing any ROM. The only way I know how to get back to standard ext3 is flashing one of your (hopefully everyone has one) ext3 nandroids that you made before you started...

morfic, Elp18 is kickin ass so far. Battery life is even better. No hangups, no freezes, all the normal stuff works, of course still no A2dp but we all no why that is ;-) . Great work!

Just flashed 3.2 v4 and everything is working over here. I have noticed that system /data/cache all have the noauto_da_allow is in the ramdisk. So disregard my last post.

I think it sarni is right, if your not on the tmo network you won't get it via ota. Best bet is to use the lg update tool. That's how I did it and it was painless.

morfic, Same thing happened to me as with the first elp kernel you sent, flashed it, booted up, after screen off in pocket for about 20 minutes SOD, battery pull, running fine now with screen off profile of 432 max 216 min.

You should have loaded cwr internal recovery script if you wanted to back up and restore your roms with the internal card.

Just a quick question, How did you actually root the OTA? I dont think you did. I think you just flashed the custom cwm recovery to the OTA so you can flash a rooted rom. Sorry I just dont want people confused when they read your post. Lots of noobs try this stuff.

I always wipe when installing a new rom. Regardless of the circumstances. IMO if any one flashes this I would: Back up with titanium=apps and data Make a nandroid Factory reset/wipe phone Wipe cache Wipe dalvik Flash rom Fix Permissions And finally reboot Just my recommendation. FWIW

The newer baseband "should" be an upgrade over the old one. Its too early to tell. I dont know about you guys but reception, data and battery used by the original radio for this phone sucked the big pastrami for me. I get no bars where my vibrant and NXS get at least two, thus this thing is...

Stock kernel is working fine here as well.

I can verify this as working on my end too. However when both animations are off on my device settings dont stick and it reverts to a very bright condition. With both animations on, brightness settings stick. Nice Find!!! :D

just wiped cache, wiped dalvik, flashed nightly 58, flashed jrcu and it still does it for me. Just FYI guys.

jrcu, fits's kang from this morning. I'll try flashing the latest nightly and jrcu and report back.

Not long at all. Happens right after wake up from screen off. The screen defaults to minimum brightness. Any brightness settings do not stick. The way I deal with it is keep auto brightness checked. It happens to me on both fits' kang and cm7.

As far as I know that is a kernel problem that morfic is aware of.

I have no problem flashing the trinity15 cm7 ext4 maxmem 48 at all. Martovitz what kernel are you flashing? And on what ROM? Maybe I can help.
