If you mean the category texts, there are several apps in marketplace, which can make custom tiles for you. Or you can add a desired text to some random contact's picture and pin it to your homescreen. I used a app called groupy.

Yeah some have said turning wifi on and leaving to charger (this keeps wifi on in some phones?) helps the phone getting updates. I'm guessing it is not possible to make such app, due to limitations of the platform. But maybe one could make an app which checks the selected apps from marketplace...

Correct me if I am wrong, but formatting emmc will format your whole internal memory. You maybe need to mount emmc first in CVM to be able to format the emmc. Is your internal memory full atm?
