Post [Guide] Carrier Locked /Snapdragon/ S9+ 10 Hours SOT by Hiro

I can understand the desire, but making the SD adoptable storage negates having super fast UFS 2.1 storage. I could understand if we had slow eMMC or the like, but the storage in these phones are some of the fastest you can get, there's a real speed and usability advantage.

Thread 2017 (IR) Remote available to order

Looks like the 2017 remote can now be ordered separately! This is the one with the coin batteries and IR blaster functionality to control TV volume and power on/off. Finally! :D https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/shield/shop/

Post best non glass screen protector

Personally, I feel like it's pretty rubbery and soft. Definitely can tell it's not glass. It sticks well and the sides don't seem to lift however.

    Post Premium Case

As someone who used the Pitaka for my S8, I now have the Samsung hyperknit case and like it a lot. Not quite as thin as the Pitaka but good coverage and I like the texture. I also have the Samsung Alcantara case on order. Still considering the Pitaka if/when they release, I liked it a lot for my S8.

Ordered a T-Mobile version straight from Samsung and I've received my tracking info. Delivery date is 3/14 since I cheaped out and didn't get next day shipping

Post Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector

Is it just me or is anyone else really impressed by the quality of glass on the Whitestone? The oleophobic coating is excellent, better than other tempered glass protectors I've used in the past, and I've used a LOT of them.

Post Old S7 charger vs S8?

    New one does 9v @ 1.67A as well as 5v @ 2A. The 9v @ 1.67A is fast charging.

    Post Turn off VoLTE

Not all, and even then for the ones that behave that way, if you drop down to 3G (HSPA+) you still retain HD-Voice (AMR-WB) HD-Voice is not VoLTE VoLTE is not WiFi calling

    Post T-Mobile DIGITS

On the S8 there is no additional app needed, it's all integrated into the stock ROM. The dialer and SMS apps let you choose which line you want to call or text from. It also tells you what device made a call. Works flawlessly.

Post UFS 2.0 or 2.1? Identify the flash chip in your S8

I hate to break it to you, but root or not, they could have just as easily blacklisted every IMEI with all the carriers. Pretty much disables a large portion of usability at that point. I'm happy that you enjoy rooting your phone, and doing whatever it is that you do with your device. Just...

Post UFS 2.0 or 2.1? Identify the flash chip in your S8

Heh if you live in Qatar, that's the normal version isn't it? Plus, the person who posted it has "Atlanta GA" in his profile, I'm assuming that's somewhere in the US

Post UFS 2.0 or 2.1? Identify the flash chip in your S8

Yes yes, that makes a much bigger difference than not having WiFi calling, VoLTE, RCS, HD-Voice, Samsung Pay, and proper BAND12 compatibility.

Checkout this thread. There's an app mentioned called SD Card Monitor, found out my S8 was essentially ejecting the card very frequently.

    Post S8 Ultra-thin case? (Peel-like case)

Are you guys speaking from experience on the S8? The Spigen air skin doesn't fit my S8 for some reason, it's just a tad bit too narrow. Spigen was nice enough to replace it, but the new one is the same. MNML fits perfectly and is the same ultra thin type case. It's my vote for the S8. The other...

Post Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector

Absolutely, especially since I'm used to having tempered glass screen protectors on my devices. I'll admit, Gorilla Glass 5 seems more scratch resistant than 4, but I still appreciate another slab that I can peel off and throw away.

Post Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector

Yeah I did, it's the only reason I put it on at all. I was honestly going to wait until someone else tried it but the removal video changed my mind.

Post Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector

Yeah, this is definitely not like the other screen protectors that only stick on the borders. It's basically bonded to the screen, edge to edge. Instead of having the adhesive on the back of the screen, you pour it out on a blob onto your phone, and the drop the screen on and watch the adhesive...

Post Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector

I can't seem to figure out embedding attachments, so I'll describe. The first 4 are without any case and the last 4 are with a MNML case on. You can tell by the slightly brownish border after the case is on. Enjoi

Post Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector

Just received mine and installed as well. The shape is a bit off, but definitely covers the full screen. The installation isn't too difficult, especially if you follow the youtube videos. What I found important was to have a very level surface and to make SURE the adhesive blob is right smack in...

Post Do I need to return my S8 to Best Buy?

If you're paying full price, why not just go to a T-Mobile store and purchase one there? Once the firmwares start getting released, you should be able to load a T-Mobile on onto the Verizon version to get all the features working, but even if you do, why go through the hassle?

    Post T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S8-S8+ Pre-Order-Waiting-Shipping Room

Yeah, and the color adjustment is only under the Adaptive setting, which makes everything look bonkers overly saturated. I'm sending mine back too

Post Red tint on the screen

My screen is red, very noticeable. The slider helps, but it's only available in Adaptive mode, which isn't my preference. Pretty sure I'll be exchanging mine

Right, so a few things after experimenting: Color balance can only be adjusted in Adaptive mode. None of the other modes allow you to do any color adjustments at all. Even in Adaptive mode with the Red content turned all the way down, it's still fairly reddish near the notification area and on...
