I bought my S8 in the old meteor store (After the rebrand and to Eir), I've had one minor firmware update since then and the firmware they are using is MET firmware. There is no Firmware containing EIR in the name. Wifi calling work's perfectly . Hope that helps.

No. You'll still need to do it the old fashioned way with a 'playercorefactory.xml' file in the kodi folder on your phone or tablet. However there is an app that helps with that on the PlayStore called 'Switch for Kodi' Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

Can you tell us. Is the phone 2nd hand or brand new? I was thinking that if it is 2nd hand, maybe the previous owner flashed Custom Roms and may have damaged the 'EFS partition' when they flashed Stock firmware back onto the device before selling to you.
