First you should flash recovery CWMRecovery_D500_Philz under fastboot, than you'll be able to restore your backup or one of mine like: 1.20.401.3

I confirm the bug. Nothing to fix that till now (maybe stock recovery would stop it, but no more CWM..). It is not an issue for me because my phone is always on.

In order to install the latest update, you have to download this adjusted OTA 1.20.401.3 , then install it under CWMRecovery as a zip file by Toggling signature verification. Note: This update will not reset your phone, so you'll have all previously installed software!:good:

For those who weren't able to install the update and still want to obtain it, I provide a CWM backup of HTC Desire 500 onesim firmware 1.10.401.8. It is already rooted and fresh version. Please restore it under CWM Recovery and uncheck MD5 checksum IOT install it. The file must be unarchieved...

Finally I managed to get working the update to 1.10.401.8 under ClockworkMod Recovery. Just copy the attached file update.zip in your SDcard and install it from CWM recovery as a zip file checking ,,toggle signature verification" in order to pass CWM signature validation. After that it is needed...

Unfortunately I don't use avast antivirus (using AVG) so I can't tell you what's the problem, but also it might be an avast issue, and not just your root.

This is the risk of rooting the phone! You have to know surely what you're gonna do, else you'll have a messed up phone. After rooting, I strongly advise to do a backup under CWM recovery, this way you keep your chance to revert everything back to the initial status.

Yes. I confirm that metod working. I managed to unlock the bootloader (htcdev.com), then to install CWMRecovery and to root the Desire 500 (one sim). It would be the time for opening a topic dedicated to HTC Desire 500...maybe someone is reading this.
