I think I used TWRP to flash the rom last time, doing fastboot flash is a bit risky IMO. Trying to catch-up on which fw, then which rom, a bit overwhelming. Just need some suggestions on a good working rom, as I couldn't start Magisk manager anymore, and all granted root access is revoked...

Well, white list may not not worth the work, but doable, just few lines of code, reg-exp search and replace. Black list, that would be just adding/modifying at the start or the end of the file with commented line to separate it from the download list... again, just few lines of code...

I think the problem is due to the issue that Miui Recovery rom (cn8.8.9, fw-less10.0.1.0) cannot boot with decrypted internal storage!? I can boot into 8.8.9 once I did a factory reset and boot process did a encryption!! Unfortunately, fw-less10.0.1.0 does not re-encrypt after factory reset...

OK, I used R8.1A after the first hotboot of R8.2, it didn't ask the decryption in the start. I did the same and Wipe Data, this time it says can't mount /data... I then installed R8.1a, reboot to system, status at bottom shows encrypting!! I then reboot to recovery, but R8.1a didn't stick...

I just hotboot the .img, and Wipe -> Format Data ... Should I specifically wipe Internal Storage in 'Advanced Wipe'?

Having trouble with the official twrp, can I flash the recovery.img from the zip in fastboot? Then I will try to use it to flash twrp... can I do adb sideload with this recovery?

Well, it would be more simple if I can just reboot to recovery from fastboot with command. I'm not getting the adb reboot recovery, either if the twrp is loaded (which it isn't) or get loaded into android, adb server won't see the devices. I think the flash is fine: >fastboot flash recovery...

I'm using/testing standby time with official global stable rom 9.6.4.0, which is miui9 and that makes sense. And then I saw miui10 with version 8.x.x.x, and then there are stable roms with 10.x.x.x!? Can someone shred some light? Got my max3 awhile back and still waiting to UBL, which one is...

Not sure what u're getting at, I bought it in official store locally with official price. The problem is stocks are somehow "leaked" to non-official dealer in much lower price. And u think this will actually make those non-official dealer wait!? LOL, all xiaomi's hurting are its true users.

I would blame xiaomi for the unnecessary long wait time, guess max 3 is my 1st and last xiaomi phone... u can see that it significantly slow down all custom roms development and forum activities
