    Post Google pay on Ultra

Another fix... None of the above worked for me and Google support couldn't help either. I had my giffgaff SIM in slot 1, tried all sorts of stuff for weeks and nothing worked. Eventually I put an O2 SIM into slot 2 and added my cards, problem solved! After a successful transaction, I was then...

Haven't had any issues myself, on giffgaff. Tried O2 briefly, it seemed okay too.

Post Dead G-Pay on Note 20 Ultra SM-N986B/DS

My carrier doesn't support e-sim. I have a dual sim model, added my cards in Google Pay with another sim in the second slot and now it works, and continues to work after removing the second sim.

Post Anyone purchased n9860 on T- dimension?

Ok, quick update... After registering my cards in Google Pay with the O2 SIM card in slot 2, I removed the O2 SIM and my cards still work! Just updated to N9860ZSU1ATJ1 too. N9860 updates aren't as slow as people have been suggesting.

Post Anyone purchased n9860 on T- dimension?

He was talking about an Honor Note 10, not the N9860. Anyway... I put an O2 SIM into the second slot and Google Pay needed me to add my cards again and now they work! It's confusing because I can't seem to find a common denominator as to why this problem is occuring. SIM1: giffgaff - Google...

Same firmware as you. So there are three different NFC methods for payment, I remember back in Google Wallet days you needed a compatible SIM card with a secure element to activate contactless payments. The options now are: SE SIM card, Android operating system or Embedded Secure Element...

Post Anyone purchased n9860 on T- dimension?

I've had absolutely no luck with Google Pay. I was using it on my Note 8 for years and since getting the Note 20 Ultra, it won't complete a contactless transaction. I've been reading about people in other countries with Google Pay not working with their SIM card. Could you please tell me which...

    Post Google pay on Ultra

Has anyone here managed to fix a broken Google Pay on the N9860? I contacted Google Pay support and they're saying the configuration appears ok but the terminals aren't communicating back to the phone. I have tried changing the secure element to all three options, removing and adding the cards...

Post UK Wi-Fi Calling (Unlocked From Samsung)

The XEU (UK unlocked from 3rd party seller) variant has a Wifi calling option in call settings. This works for EE but I had a new contract and Wifi calling didn't get enabled until a few days later. VoLTE didn't work at all on XEU with EE, so I installed the EVR firmware for that. Maybe try...

I keep both of these in my wallet. Type C to micro USB and a micro USB OTG adaptor. Got them from Gearbest and/or Banggood.

Post Note 8 on UK EE

There actually is a little bit of bloat on the EE/EVR firmware, they bundle My EE and Lookout Security. What you get over and above that is VoLTE, you can't get that with the generic firmware but you do get Wifi calling with both XEU and EVR, presumably with BTU also. I haven't seen EE branding...

Post Wifi calling on unlocked Note 8

The majority of my calls are wifi, including several over the past day or two. I would be surprised if Samsung intervened in the manner described without attracting a significant measure of publicity.

Post Note 8 on UK EE

All UK networks sell the Exynos 8995 model. Snapdragon is only USA, Canada, Japan and China (H.K. & Macau). It's on the Note 8 Wikipedia page BTW.

Post Wifi calling on unlocked Note 8

I have discovered that the unlocked XEU firmware allows Wifi calling on EE(UK) but doesn't allow VoLTE, for that I needed EE's EVR firmware. I had set up a new contract for my phone so Wifi calling didn't work for the first few days, causing a bit of confusion. Anyway, you may be facing...

Yes, this shows the VoLTE icon which appears whenever I have no wifi or I disable wifi calling. https://i.imgur.com/cUhNswN.jpg The discussion on EE you linked is interesting, so they do limit VoLTE to their own supplied phones. I'd recommend switching to an EVR firmware, despite the guy who...

    Post EE UK Wifi Calling

Right, after a switch back to XEU I can confirm that EE Wifi Calling does work on a non EE phone but VoLTE does not! So I switched back to EVR and everything's working fine again. Quite surprising since EE have always insisted that Wifi Calling is exclusive to phones supplied by them, yet I've...

Post Night clock missing? Was present on Note7

If you glanced at it then you weren't sleeping, i.e. your sleep cycle had been interrupted. So it doesn't really follow as justification for having a sufficiently dimmed clock by your bedside. BTW, "aswell" isn't a word. ;)

I thought the lack of a physical button would really bother me but it doesn't at all. I actually really prefer it now. The only problem it's caused is that I sometimes have to take a good look at my phone when I take it out my pocket because sometimes it's upside down and I'm hopelessly...

    Thread EE UK Wifi Calling

Hi folks, I'm having a bit of difficulty or confusion with wifi calling. I'm on EE but my phone is an XEU. There was a wifi calling option that didn't seem to do anything; no icon when enabled and no obvious network connection. So I switched to the EVR firmware, wiped the phone and set up from...
