This happened to me when I booted the rom before flashing gapps. I had to flash both rom and gapps in one step for it to work

I am not seeing any notifications on my fresh install. They're pushed to my smartwatch, so the phone is definitely receiving them, but it's as if they are disappearing instantly. Any ideas what could be wrong here?

Nothing helped. I tried to clean install a couple of times. Thank you for your time, but in the end I had to restore my backup and now it is working again.

No, I was and still am on nougat. Have you tried disabling write protection? As I said, I'd be surprised if ithis was the cause of the problem, but maybe it's worth a shot

This sounds weird. It seems you did exactly what I did. Only thing I could think of is system write protection (adb reboot disemmcwp), but I'd be surprised if caused trouble in EDL mode.

I just put it on my sdcard and rename it to update.zip, right? Good thing I have a TWRP Backup from before the Nougat upgrade. I should be able to restore that, and then do the upgrade again, including root.

Damn, I did not install SU and now I'm stuck with the original recovery. I cannot enter fastboot either, it will always go to the bootloader and autoboot from there. How do I get TWRP/root back now?
