So I just tried moving up to the March build on my Pixel 2 xl and was successful. So it looks like Google sent out some kind of update that corrected the issue.

Ah cool, I got rid of them and reinstalled the modules but no go. :( not sure what I'm doing wrong.

How do you remove modules in Magisk? I tried the trash can next to each one and reboot but they still remain. Any idea how to remove them? Thanks!

So I tried this and can't get props to work every times I try it says: "/system/bin/sh: props inaccessible or not found" but I have the modules. I also can't get adaway to work either. However I'm rooted and OverrideDSN and Titanium Backup seem to work with no issues. Not sure why I can't get...

Anyone having issues once rooted (through Magisk) to update /etc/hosts file? I'm trying to use Adway and I can't update the hosts file, but have root access.

Nice that worked, I need to use: fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1-beta2-taimen.img as twrp-3.2.0-0-taimen.img would just hang on me. I used the zip file from (HERE) ie (DOWNLOAD)

I'm having the same issue, I have ran through the script a few times. I'm on linux, does skipsoft work on linux? If so what option in there would I try to get past this problem, as I'm not familiar with it. Would wiping userdata help? Or need to be done? Thanks

Because its their phone! If that is the case why can't they put a warning on the VZW one saying bootloader can't be unlocked. Would have saved me, and the others wondering a lot of time.

So Google is now telling me that the non-VZW version is the only way to get a unlocked bootloader.

Yeah I mean it kind of worked. I mean it would go into the stock recovery. But the update would fail every time. It is in English, so there is that. :D

I have tried both options and the update but it keeps failing. Is there a way i can get the ota recovery back on there? I haven't been able to find it on here to download and install. Right now I have twrp and am rooted.

Thanks for the tip, I just rooted my M3 and did that suggestion, and also ro.config.hw_is_hide_wifi_5g=false nothing else. After reboot it worked.

So current working theory is that it was a software issue that cause the problem. I'm just unclear as to why it happened, and how to stop it from occurring again . I do have OpenDNS enabled on the phone, could that cause the problem?

No my whole problem was that it would drop and no matter what I would do wouldn't reconnect to the network. I tried a lot of things to fix it (see above). APN would appear and then disappear from the menu. Right now its working on the network as of last Thurs. and APN options is not there.

Some times I will see the APN settings, and sometimes I won't. Right now I don't. When it does show up it shows VZWINTERNET selected. There are ton of other options, but they don't work either when the problem was seen.
