Does FlymeOS backport security fixes from the latest android release (i.e. Nougat at the time of writing)? Because FlymeOS 6.x is still based on Android 5.1? I also wonder why they made this phone so development unfriendly. Closed bootloader and didn't release kernel/device tree source/blobs.

Post brick the phone after flash with a wrong pit file

It is possible because people usually think in terms of branding. Not aware different models may exist in different regions. Example the note gen1 has Korean and Chinese and US versions, each has a different model number.

Thx but I already use an app for that (ES explorer, though I think that uses normal Wifi). I was just curious about the native wifi-direct abilities, since not everyone has the same app installed, it would be preferable in terms of compatibility/UX.

Besides testing Bluetooth I'm trying out the Wifi-Direct (P2P) functionality. Has anyone had success transferring (e.g. via "share") files using this? Get good speeds? My phone (Running 5.1) can't establish a wifi-direct connection with my older Sony (Running 4.2). Will try another Android...

Zips and extension trickery also don't work. So the question remains, is it me or Meizu? Update: I tried sending epub as jpeg and it worked. Still don't know why this problem occurs. Guessing a security "feature" some developers use.

Is it just me, or does bluetooth file transfer not allow sending of some file types? I can send photos to my other android, but can't send epub. I can receive all file types fine. I believe this is a common restriction with default Android BT apps, but would like to confirm before I get a BT...

Ah stupid, I bricked my 32GB note, didn't think that the korean version would be that different... Any tips for fixing a bad PIT flash? Won't even do ODIN mode now, device recognized by Windows as QHSUSB_DLOAD with a missing driver.

What's the difference between native and non-native DLNA servers? The native version won't start ('error, the version was not started'). Maybe I need another server pack for that... [EDIT, fixed crash, had to manually choose CPU architecture]. The non-native DLNA seems to work but gets me...

Sounds cool. Maybe I can set long press home to go to homescreen. Which should be an obvious option that is lacking from the settings. 2 more things that need fixing are: 3rd party clocks (alarms) are unreliable. And the 3rd party keyboards like google keyboard don't produce haptic feedback...

liovag Technically 32GB is 29.8GB (My phone says the total size 29.12, probably doesn't count invisible partitions like baseband). Your phone also says 29.12. The problem is your data partition is only 11.9G, whereas mine is 26.2G according to Windows (or 26.8 according to android). In your...

hmm weird. I had a clean install. Enabled root. Disabled a few system apps (like email, weather, etc) with Titanium backup. I am also having trouble installing busybox. It seems I lack permission to remount the system partition as rw, even though I have root. I am guessing this is intended by meizu. I am considering replacing the SU binary by installing superSU. I think this can work because I am still allowed to...

    Post [TOOL][LINUX] mmcblk0 Extractor (v1.0.1 - 3/16/16)

My point is that mmcblk0 is not the same as a "full disk image" because it does not include every sector on the NAND. So it does not do exactly what it says.

    Post [TOOL][LINUX] mmcblk0 Extractor (v1.0.1 - 3/16/16)

What about hidden sectors? the partition table? i.e. stuff that is not inside the supervolume but still occupies NAND memory? For example using MTK droid tools, or just browsing an OEM firmware folder, I can see more data than that listed in the mmcnlk0 partitions.
