    Post [KK 4.4.4][ROM]Mackay ROM 4.9.13 (11-Oct-2014)

Take a look at the OP where kasper_h recommends flashing CM9 first, to avoid the possibility of losing IMEI. It's always worthwhile backing up the IMEI, just in case. Here are some links you might find useful: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526478 (study the OP for further...

I'm about to flash Mackay, but have been using CyanAOSP gapps for KitKat 4.4. It has both the contacts and calendar sync adapters. Have a look at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542131 for the download link.

I've hesitated over updating to v4 in view of some of the comments. What happened with your back button? Is that still not working? And are you using any particular kernel?

Never thought to try Old Faithful on 1080p videos! So thought I'd give it a quick workout with streamed music videos. These were 1920x1080 and 1440x1080. Data rate was <= 5990kbps. Total bitrate <= 6142kbps. fps <= 29. Audio <= 192kbps. The results were truly amazing! I couldn't fault...

The ROM works fine. I did have a fault with the chip several years ago and sent it back for repair; since then the GPS has worked fine. If you check SGS history, I think you will find that there were many complaints about the GPS.

GPS works fine. Don't forget to change country code to your own location. I prefer to do this manually, as not all apps on play store work with 4.4 (eg, FasterFix). I think the default is set to 'in' (India) in etc/gps.conf. I've set mine to 'uk' (without the quotes). Use GPS Status every few...

I flashed from 4.3 v4. In view of the comment here, taken from the thread, I was given to understand it was compiled from cm10.2 sources: 2. Built from CM10.2 source with GCC 4.6 with O3 optimizations, heavily debloated , almost no 3rd party apps pre-installed Have I misunderstood the situation?

The future of 4.3? In view of your comments in 4.2.2 v8 final build ('4.3 is slower than 4.2 , and its bigger size is not due to more apps, but the base itself (the libs and binaries) are bigger.') I wonder what the future is for 4.3? Is it worth staying with 4.3? Or should we revert to...
