    Post [RECOVERY] ClockworkMod 6.0.4.7 - Touch and Non-Touch - GT-I9300 [ZIP/ODIN]

You cannot flash images that aren't signed by Samsung with a stock recovery. You should flash a tarball that contains cwm with Odin; I think someone had posted the .tar some posts ago.

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but you can actually flash a cwm update through cwm itself? How does that work?? Enviado desde mi GT-I9300 mediante Tapatalk

I too thought cm 10.1 was "stable" due to Exynos 4, but I haven't run into a single problem (aside from minor graphical glitches) ever since I installed it. No FCs or random reboots whatsoever. I'm skeptical of 10.2 because there hasn't been a RC, though. Enviado desde mi GT-I9300 mediante...

Probably because of fstrim, right? How long have you been without freezes? My phone is okay for a day or two and then the freezes show up again (though I've never flahed anything beyond 4.2.2)

Thread [Q] OTA update with tripped flash counter?

I flashed a stock 4.1.2 to my phone, so now the status is set to official, but my counter is set to 1. Will I be able to install OTA updates? My warranty has expired, so I have no need to reset the counter if I can update. Any help is appreciated.

Post [Q] Okay to factory reset while rooted?

Thank you, though something in that thread caught my interest. It says /data/media is where /sdcard is pointing to, and a data wipe from recovery wipes /data, but how come it doesn't wipe the internal storage as well?

Thread [Q] Okay to factory reset while rooted?

I want to wipe /sdcard and /data, so I thought of doing a factory reset thru settings. Though I don't know whether it's "safe" to do so while having root. In which case, would it be possible to regain root access by installing SuperSU from the Play Store? (I installed it using CF-AutoRoot)...

Nightlies are built automatically on a daily basis with whatever feature(s) or fixes the cm maintainers add, regardless of whether things break or not.

It's obvious you don't know how big is the Samsung crap devs have to put up with. They have people get in their nerves as well, you know. That may be their attitude, but their contributions make up for that by a long shot.

Post [KERNEL] SpeedMod N7000 Jelly Bean [K5-5 CWM CIFS ROOT / NO-ROOT]

Is the brickbug fix present in the recovery as well? I read somewhere that recoveries also have a kernel of their own and haven't found whether cwm5 includes the fix or not. (Just to make sure if I can safely wipe data from the cwm that comes with SpeedMod) Thanks.

Post [KERNEL] SpeedMod N7000 Jelly Bean [K5-5 CWM CIFS ROOT / NO-ROOT]

I checked both the tar and the zip: only difference is that the zip has 2 files called update-binary and updater-script, but I'm fairly sure that doesn't have anything to do with recovery, so I guess the tar does come with cwm as well. Thanks for your help.

Post [KERNEL] SpeedMod N7000 Jelly Bean [K5-5 CWM CIFS ROOT / NO-ROOT]

Probably stupid questions here, but I wanted to be sure. Kernel works on ANY JB rom regardless of build? (I ask because of the different codes: LSF, LSZ, etc) Does the odin flashable tar include cwm and root or is it just the kernel? And if the above is just the kernel, can I safely wipe data...

    Post Galaxy S3 charing issue

Just look at the charger's output current: if it matches the "Now" current, then your phone is charging just fine. Stock charger for S3 is 1000mA, and through a PC's USB is 500mA IIRC.

    Post Android 4.3 Discussion thread

If it were up to Samsung, they'd only roll out updates for their current flagships (S4 and future Note 3) but I suspect there must be something else going on for them to have a 4.2.2 build for the S3 rather than for the Note 2 (the latter being the latest Note flagship)

Thread [Q] Backup efs how exactly

I've read many posts regarding backing up the efs folder, and they either say use any root explorer to directly copy it, or use EFS Pro app. Are both of these methods valid? (I'd use EFS Pro but I don't have BusyBox installed.) Thanks.

Post [Q] How does wireless charging works?

I can't recall correctly, but there will be a little bit more of wasted power compared to wired charging (due to the air's permeability to let the electromagnetic field produced by the coil "flow") Well yes, it's still wired, but the joke is to not plug the phone. Personally, I always charge my...
  32. S

Post [Q] How does wireless charging works?

I believe the wasted power is related to the coil's material (the less resistive, the less dissipated power). So yes, efficiency could never be 100% because there's no material with 0 resistivity.
