I thought i'd try this too before I saw your post and it finally worked. It reformatted the card from fat32 to exfat and it's back to 64gb :D The trick is to format the card in the phone not on the pc.

Are you sure? I just reformatted my 64gb sdcard from fat32 to exFAT in windows and the card is not recognised. I can see it in recovery file explorer but the rom does not recognise it. Are you perhaps using a different kernel?

I have encountered the same problems with both raw kernel and omni.

I had tried this before and it hadn't worked. Thought I'd give it one more try after your suggestion and it did! The backup finished. However, after I hit the back button on TWRP the recovery crashed again. I'll try the restore function later to see if it actually works.

I too have this problem and others too from what I've read. It seems that some process gets stuck and keeps using the cpu the phone gets really hot and battery drains very fast. Watch out for it and reboot when you observe it. That's what I do but I guess this is a real issue for daily use.

No compression enabled at team win recovery on my side but still backup process crashes while backing data. Could it be the team win recovery?

Please don't replace the keyboard with the note8 one. That one is too small...If all the issues are resolved I think this rom with some of the note8 apps like contacts and phone which I like more is the best ever. Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
