I'm on Sheep+FM also, and no overheating whatsoever, not even warm. Anything using data constantly? I remember my well-optimized Galaxy got very hot when I used it as a WiFi hotspot. Check battery stats and see what's using all the power.

Good guide. Dust particle is your enemy. Although, in summer 2010 when I got my Galaxy, I didn't install a screen protector. The screen is still absolutely perfect after 1.5 years. Just need to have a dedicated phone pocket, free of keys/coins :)
