Yes, you can install this ROM straight from another custom ROM, but I advise you to clear your data as it might conflict with your other ROMs data.

So how is the state of this ROM? Is everything working? I'm looking for a daily driver 8.0, and I'm afraid to flash any Oreo ROM right now

    Post [ROM][I9100][OFFICIAL][7.1.2] LineageOS 14.1

I was talking with the Lineage team when I brought to attention that the current SELinux rules were too permissive, rendering it useless as a security feature, then they took the builds down
  9. Lysergic Acid

    Post [ROM][I9100][OFFICIAL][7.1.2] LineageOS 14.1

It was took down because the build had some issues
  10. Lysergic Acid

    Post [ROM][I9100][UNOFFICIAL][7.1.1] Lineage OS 14.1

No, there will be official releases for sure, this thread is just not "officially" supported, mainly because it was created before the official work on it started
  11. Lysergic Acid

    Post [ROM][I9100][UNOFFICIAL][7.1.1] Lineage OS 14.1

There are other builds here meanwhile, but none of them will be stable imo :) I don't know why it's called official lol

    Post [ROM][I9100][UNOFFICIAL][7.1.1] Lineage OS 14.1

I'm doing test builds and uploading on AFH, you can use them if you want but be cautious :) You can flash it over like a nightly

    Post [ROM][I9100][UNOFFICIAL][7.1.1] Lineage OS 14.1

I think the same, we were against the emulated sdcard because CM requested the ROM to work on the stock partition table, now that this isnt a reality anymore, I think we could change it to emulated, even though it needs a special repartition, not just increase /system. I'll see if that's possible

I have some good news I've just received pocketrule's S2 in a very good shape and with CM13 installed :D (thanks for not letting me see the stock ROM again) So now I guess I'll move to the new LineageOS to continue the work. EDIT: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

    Post [ROM][I9100][UNOFFICIAL][7.1.1] Lineage OS 14.1

Well, Simon got merge rights on a device he doesn't have (as far as I know), I don't really like revert wars on gerrit, so it will stay like that for now

Lol She's kinda old by now, so she has no idea about the responsability that s2 had. She also has no idea why I needed the phone, as it wasn't my daily driver. Well, trying to explain is a waste too :p

Post [ROM][6.0.1][I9100][OFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 13 Nightly Builds

My mom broke her phone (dropped on water is my guess, but I'm not sure), so I had to hand over my s2 as it was the only phone we had not being used as a daily driver. So now she's using CM13 lol

I would accept a s2 with a broken screen, actually any s2 that's not in use and won't be missed. As a full time student I cannot afford a new phone for development until I finish my college and get a job :D CM14 will probably get out but a bit delayed, cause I mean, I can review commits just...

Funny, but I have some bad news on this. My mom broke her phone (probably dropped on water but she was shy to reveal the real cause) and then I gave her the s2 while she don't buy a new one (yes, my mom is using CM13 and she's not complaining about issues lol). So I cannot test things now, plus...

I'll wait for CM14 to get in a buildable state this time. No crazy AOSP or Day 1 builds lol. As always I can't give an ETA, but you can expect a booting build next week I guess, I'm excited for the new errors and problems to solve in N too :p

Post [ROM][6.0.1][I9100][OFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 13 Nightly Builds

Interesting, I'll take a look. To be honest I think it was more stable before. Recently CM introduced some new APIs and weird commits with seems to break some stuff, so my to do list is just growing. Besides, the need for a repit to get gapps working is bad too, but if it gets to a good state...

Gello I just tested building Gello, it works so far, but, its size is too big. The system image size gets up to 521mb, which doesn't fit in the 512mb system partition. Actually I can't even build the ROM zip because of an error about the system size. So for now it's a nope :(

I've just enabled the BLN support for this device, so the next nightly should have it. As arnab said, you'll need a third party app with root permissions to enable it, or the following command ;) echo "1" > /sys/class/misc/backlightnotification/notification_led

Post [ROM][I777][5.1.1][OFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 12.1 Nightly Builds

In theory, I should have dropped the device from the nightlies because of that bug, but since no one reported the bug officially I left it as is. I'll start pushing some changes to the i777 to keep it at the same level as the i9100, and then try to sneak it in CM 13. No promises tho :)

The problem is that it's not only config files, the different files go inside the kernel and system .imgs. So we need to boot at least one type of build before choosing what partition layout the user has, then change it if needed, wipe the files created on first boot, etc. It's just too...
