Thanks. I know the code. Nowadays many phones don't let you just boot off a custom recovery without flashing it. It's great to see that the Honor 5x has that ability.

I am running Mint 17.3. And after installing all the packages mentioned in aosp and cm guides, it builds just fine. And yes, I copy-pasted my roomservice.xml to that post.

How did you take a backup of stock recovery using TWRP? Did you flash TWRP or just soft boot it? Was your phone rooted?

Not always. It does solve the problem if it's due to corrupt or changed files/directories. In your case I guessed that might be the problem because everybody else is able to build with the same repositories.

Yes. From Mi Recovery. The Google apps are listed under installed apps. I guess there's a separate partition for these apps. May be the reason why some people with global base rom are not getting the 1.4 GB system partition even after flashing 5.12.17 and 6.1.8 Alpha MiUI.

It generally takes a while to completely implement QC Quickcharge in source built roms. Wait for a few days. Hopefully all these minor bugs will get squashed in the coming month or so. New proprietary MM blobs have already been added according to the commits. Therefore almost stable builds...

Now that MiUI based on 6.0 is out, shouldn't the blobs from that rom fix some of the driver issues? Or do we have to wait till Xiaomi updates cancro's sources to MM branch? Anyway kudos to you linuxxxx for cooking an almost perfect LP/MM rom out of KK sources.

Nope. Motorola just used a dirty hack so that brightness doesn't decrease to colour shifting zone. There's no change in brightness from about 40% to 0% on the adjustment slider. We at least had choice. They took that away.

I have these. Most visible at low brightness and yellowish-white backgrounds.

That's what I meant. Not quite the best choice of word, I guess. But if that was the case, everyone should have had the pink tint at low brightness. Do you mean the ones who are not getting it are either lying or have Moto X's with LCD panels? :D

This is not a feature. It's an issue with amoled displays. That's why Samsung limits the lowest brightness to a higher level. While Moto X seems to go way down. I just want to know if everyone's having this. Then it's okay. But if it's not everyone then there're some good amoled panels out there...

Okay so I bought a new Moto X (2014) last week In India. Everything about the phone is great. It was already on lollipop. But when I decrease the brightness to below 30-40% the display gradually becomes more and more purple. And with Adaptive Brightness on and in a dark room, it's so purple that...

Nope. You just used an archive manager and extracted the file. I need this file from the decompiled apk so that it is editable.

Swapping the external sd as internal storage would only be possible after someone can decompile the framework-res.apk because vold.fstab isn't used anymore from 4.3 I guess. Can't you read the OP? I did clearly mention not to flash the attached boot.img.

It is mounted like that only in the 5.1 backup rom. But you'd only get about 2.33GB of internal storage as the rest is used by the other system partitions. Also you won't be able to move apps to the external sd card. IMO 2.33GB is too little as most apps store their data on the primary storage...
