Thread [Q] Are there any kernels for CM11?

Hello. Straight to the point: Are there any actively developed kernels that work with CM11? The default kernel works okay-ish, but I'd like more control. I just recently got the Note 3 (I also use Note 2) and I find it really unusual that there seems to be very little development going on for...

    Post [Aug 18] CyanogenModX [5.1.1_r10]

So what's up with deep sleep on CM11? My phone never goes into it, and it really screwes up the battery life. The 20130617 version kept the CPU on 1600MHz regardless of governor and with no CPU load, 20140626 allows it to go down to 200MHz, but not into deep sleep. All of course on a clean...

    Post [ROM][AOSPA:Android 4.4.4 KTU84M]PARANOIDANDROID 4.6 Beta 4

Just to confirm: Is multi-dpi completely and definitely out? I just installed 4.4 final on my N7, and it certainly seems so. It's a pity, it was the only advantage of PA over CM, and certainly a useful feature on big devices.

    Post [ROM][AOSPA:Android 4.4.4 KTU84M]PARANOIDANDROID 4.6 Beta 4

Sad news, and kind of weird, since this was the main differentiating feature of PA and, arguably, the most useful. The Xposed module is a pain to use. I guess it's 3.67 for me until I have to get a new device, bite the bullet and use xposed. Damn.

    Post [ROM][AOSPA:Android 4.4.4 KTU84M]PARANOIDANDROID 4.6 Beta 4

Per-app DPI? For me it's the main reason for using PA, and I haven't seen this working since 3.67 (which I'm stuck on for that reason).

    Post [ROM][AOSPA:Android 4.4.4 KTU84M]PARANOIDANDROID 4.6 Beta 4

Sorry for asking here, but there is no QA thread that I'm aware of. Is there any kind of a timeline for the return of per-app DPI? Even a general one? I'm stuck on PA 3.67, which, as far as I know, was the last fully working version (the quicksettings tile wasn't usable in later ones, and later...

    Post [rom][8/1] paranoidandroid 3.91 | 4.3

just a little rant: Personally I can't live without the Theme Chooser. I spent a lot of time to make a theme that looks just the way I want it to, I despise the blue color and ineligible blue statusbar icons, invisible in sunlight, no battery percentage (the circle thing is so small you can't...

    Post [AOSPA:Android 4.4.4 KTU85P][05-JUL-14] PARANOIDANDROID 4.41

One suggestion from me would be to change from "battery circle" to simple, text-based battery percentage, such as it was with CM base. For people that use small DPI for statusbar (I use 240 for example), the circle is unusable. I miss the CM base, so many options gone. Can't even set device...

    Post [KERNEL][01APR][JB][SAMMY&CM] SiyahKernel S3 v1.9.1

It's not a software issue. USB CB wakelock is raised when you connect to an USB host (computer). In this case it's caused by either dirt in the USB port causing shorts that the phone interprets as a charger/car dock connections, or an otherwise damaged USB port. I had the exact same problem with...

Post **Ultimate GS3 sudden death thread**

    * So, any idea as to why XDA-developers doesn't publish this on a front page? Feels like someone is trying to score some cheap points with Samsung by keeping it quiet. Most tech portals at least did a short mention of the issue, yet on XDA it's as if everything is O.K and we all love Samsung.

Post **Ultimate GS3 sudden death thread**

What kinda baffles me is the fact that XDA-Developers main portal didn't care enough to make even a short post about it. They post things about tiny, unimportant apps, but somehow fail to mention that what is probably the most popular device has a built-in use-by date, due to Samsung's...

    Post [KERNEL][01APR][JB][SAMMY&CM] SiyahKernel S3 v1.9.1

Yes, Perseus only works on stock ROMs. If you want to be safe until gokhanmoral updates SiyahKernel, you can try yank555.lu v 1.4 kernel (thread 2006459). It has separate versions for stock and CM/AOSP. It's much simpler and has less options than Siyah (no STweaks compatibility), but newest...

Try changing your radio. For me it worked miracles, got standby drain from 1.4%/h to 0.4%/h. Different radio versions work good for different operators, so it's mostly trial and error. Also, a question to the devs: Where is the ui sound for volume change located? I mean the annoying "pum" when...

Post **Ultimate GS3 sudden death thread**

It depends on the country. In most places manufacturers are free to choose what they demand, and in 95% of cases they demand receipt. I know of no country that explicitly forbids it, and I certainly had no luck trying to get things repaired without the receipt. Even worse, two years ago I was...

Post **Ultimate GS3 sudden death thread**

Sorry, but you're misinforming people. In most EU countries you need proof of purchase from the place you purchased the phone, which basically means receipt. Bank statements are not honoured. Also, warranty starts on the day of purchase, which can't be checked by IMEI, plus, due to different...

Post [APP] SendReduced -- email reduced size photos

I like it, simple and effective. If you take suggestions, it would be awesome if the intent worked for MMS. My operator limits multimedia messages to 300kB (as do many european operators), so sending a picture is impossible in a hurry, and this thing would be very handy every time I have to...

Personally, I think that among the most deserving are people involved in getting Android to work on the HTC HD2. Post [ROM] PARANOIDANDROID 2.54 | Per-App COLOR (newest PA invention), Dpi & UserInterface

I just got the 2.15, but there seems to be an annoying quirk: there are a lot of files with the same filename in /system/etc/terminfo, which makes 7-zip throw an error whenever I try to add a file to any directory. Makes editing the .zip basically impossible. No such problems with previous versions.

I also use Paranoid on my good 'ol HD2, where ParanoidAndroid settings has much more options. I love this ROM, only issue I have is that with siyah kernel 4.1.2, none of the DPI settings work. It just ignores them and everything works with DPI set in build.prop. Not a huge issue for me, since I always use 160, but a slight annoyance nonetheless. Stock kernel doesn't have BLN, so I can't...

Well, now you have ;) It doesn't automount any storage, complains about not being able to mount /sdcard, the interface is slow and so on. Choosing the desired option takes more time than in CWM. Basically, the market (I refuse to call it "play store") is crap. Post What Samsung is doing: Nokia offers $100 rebate for Lumia 900 software bug

Well... no. No matter the format, clipping is there. It has nothing to do with hw or sw decoders, it's an issue with the screen controller (not the GPU) approximating dark greys to black. It seems to vary between each Note - mine is particularly unlucky, in some dark videos (Eve Online trailers...
