Unless AT&T had any stipulation in there that you had to use the Note the entire time I highly doubt the OS would matter. They would only look at the IMEI I would think if that's the case. AT&T Sim locks their devices until they are paid off, once it is then you can request the unlock code...

So far now that I'm not at home and at work my SMS are going through without a delay and no doubles. I tested it at home by turning the WiFi off and it solved the issue as well

Had to roll back to 6.1, the animations wouldn't change for me, and the EQS in the status bar wouldn't let me hide them. Didn't test it all but the animations not working and seemed to be stuck on the one that would come up from the bottom was an eye sore and didn't care for that.
