Thanks a bunch for the help. I'll try it when I have a couple days to spare in case I brick it!

    Post KitKat tracking post XT925

So it's absolutely necessary to have 1) stock jb, 2) jb bootloader, 3) stock recovery and lastly 4) unroot for the ota to work correctly? I'd prefer to not brick it but would like rooted stock KK w/ xposed. I don't mind the jb at the moment but it's missing lots of the newer features (mostly the...

Post [ROM] [stock 4.1.2] Droid Nexesque v3.6 XT925/XT926 "Fast, Stable & Reliable"

Thanks for the reply! I did see that but have not had time to try it just yet. Hopefully will have time tomorrow morning to do so. Until then, I'm reminiscing with a crackberry ;) If I can find a fix, I'd love to try and apply it to this rom and see if they can play nice together. edit: Hmm...

Post [ROM] [stock 4.1.2] Droid Nexesque v3.6 XT925/XT926 "Fast, Stable & Reliable"

Flashed this and it does seem to work smoothly but screwed up my radio unfortunately. I guess since it's for the xt926 and being on Rogers in Canada wasn't a good combo despite using that xt925 patch that was posted. Restoring a backup of the stock rom doesn't work either so I'm in the process...

    Post [ROM][AOSP][Nightly/Release] CarbonRom KitKat [moto_msm8960]

It has never worked for me on this rom but you're right I should have clean flashed the latest before reporting! Sorry, lesson learned! I will try to do that this coming week. Sometimes I forget how many variables there can be when dealing with Android. The cause of and solution to most of my...

Thanks for that. I'll make sure I have the right apn settings... just as soon as I can get the com.android.phone to stop force closing when I go into view the APN entries. I may just need to clean flash at this rate. Don't worry about flashing it just to test tethering since it sounds like my...

    Post [ROM][AOSP][Nightly/Release] CarbonRom KitKat [moto_msm8960]

Logcat was created just before turning tether on, connecting to tether from PC, then attempt to ping google by domain name. I have tethered with stock roms, as well as custom roms over wifi, bluetooth and USB (super handy when my home internet is being fussy / roommate is watching netflix) so I...

    Post [ROM][AOSP][Nightly/Release] CarbonRom KitKat [moto_msm8960]

I'm doing most of the testing with a tablet (asus TF101 on katkiss 4.3.1) but have access to a pc with wifi as well. The tablet gets what looks like a proper ip, dns, and default gateway. I can ping from tablet to phone and vice versa. 8.8.8.8 does not work. I can get a logcat, sure. Is there...

Sorry I edited the post a couple times while you were typing by the looks of it. I have tried to tether to a pc without any luck. I have to run out for a bit but will come back to this and answer your questions further. Thank you for your help! On a side note, I am able to use the same sim...

Yes, wifi tethering. It will connect and receive an IP but the icon will remain gray (full bars) without access to anything outside the lan. Cannot ping Google by ip or domain. I can ping the phone from the tablet using its local ip as well as its public ip.

    Post [ROM][AOSP][Nightly/Release] CarbonRom KitKat [moto_msm8960]

Has anyone had luck tethering with this rom? Normally custom roms break the stock tethering for me so I end up fiddling with the "wifi tether" app but have not been successful.

It's funny you say that. I was contemplating the TF701T until I was playing with a friend's stock Samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition and it had lag and stuttering everywhere. Made it almost feel like my TF101 is snappier thanks to KatKiss with most regular tasks.

I have it for the x925 yes. I know the devs don't like supporting old builds but max brightness is a deal-breaker. I'll pm you when it's done uploading. I read in another thread that the brightness issue was a CM kernel bug and not specific to pac or the RAZR hd.

Hate to say it but I'm still on 11/29 until the brightness is fixed. Works great aside from the occasional memory leak (that becomes pretty obvious and is temporarily fixed with a restart).

It's a nightly build so it has quirks and bugs from time to time. It's my daily driver / main phone rom but tend to stick with one stable build for a little while. Nandroid backups are crucial when working with nightlies. The rom has so much more to offer than stock. Yes it has Brazilian...

I don't know if it's this build or a bug due to settings or something but it seems that after about a day without a reboot the lock screen no longer works. Clean flashed 11/30 on an xt925 then let it sit for about 10 minutes. Brutally slow until I turned off the individual app colours (by default) in the Hybrid Properties settings and did a couple reboots. Seems okay now with occasional hangs and lag but I'll see how that pans out in the next...

It'll only delay the lock if you let the screen timeout if you have the box checked for "power button instantly locks". Should work as you described if you untick it.

Post thinking of picking up a RAZR hd from Fido Canada. Long term thoughts?

1 - I picked this up on Rogers and I'm pretty happy with it. Having a slightly less modified version of android is something I prefer since I'd rather do the tweaking instead of rely on manufacturers to decide what I need. Yeah, I'd recommend it but it depends how flashy people expect a phone to...

My apologies if this has been covered many times before but for those using it as an alarm clock, are you worried about / have you ever dealt with burn in? I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy Captivate (i896) with an amoled screen and after two years there was a distinct swiftkey layout that...
