Thread [Q] Having some problems with Video Unlimited

I recently purchased a Sozy Z2 (wifi only) tablet and I'm having a frustrating issue with Video Unlimited. I'm logged in, authorized my device. If I search for content I've already purchased (via my PS3 or VITA) it shows me that I've already purchased it. The "download" button is available and...

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

Hey Guys, I've been running Legend 4 for a while now and it's been running pretty flawlessly so I've had trouble coming up with the ambition to do a full wipe to install Legend 6... Anyway, finally did it this evening and I gotta say you've outdone yourselves: It runs great and looks awesome...

Post Android 4.1.1 update this morning

I got the initial error about being unable to download "please check again in a moment" that others encountered. I cleared the DMClient cache and data and tried again and after that everything worked successfully. I'm completely stock - never rooted.

Post Android 4.1.1 update this morning

Anybody else notice that when you boot into the boot options screen (Power + Vol Down) the instructions are incorrect? The screen tells you something along the lines of "volume down to select and volume up for selection move" It actually works opposite to that.

No problem - glad to help out. Mine's installed and seems to be working well!

Post Android 4.1.1 update this morning

I got the same message - find the app DMClient and then clear cache and data and force stop. Check for the update again - that worked for me. Still downloading so I can't say whether it's going to be successful or not but it definitely cleared that original error.

Thanks for the clarification. I kind of thought that might have been the case but I couldn't rule out the fact that I completely didn't know what I was talking about. Wouldn't be the first time. :)

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

Thanks for the reply. Not sure I understand though - is there no way to run the "legend stock theme" on legend 5? (not referring to the samsung stock theme) The Legend stock theme exists for Legend 5 in the second post of the thread so I'm just trying to figure out what the correct path is to...

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

Hi, Just a quick question - I'm currently running Legend 4 (runs great by the way) with the Legend Stock Theme. Looking at the upgrade file for "legend 4 to 5" it appears to be ICS Themed. If I want to keep the legend stock theme can I simply flash that upgrade and then install the "legend 5...

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

Sure - I've converted to EXT4 numerous times on various ROMs (including Legend 3.4) and never had any problems whatsoever - it's always worked flawlessly despite some of the warnings I've read about not doing the convert and restore method - but neither have I seen any substantial improvement...

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

I had been running Legend 3.4 and I've been kind of busy lately so didn't have time to install 3.7 and finally tried 4.0 just a few days ago. I'm using Corn 7.06 with RFS and performance seems substantially better than 3.4 and battery life is solid. I haven't seen any problems so far and the...

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

Just wanted to make one last note about this issue in case anybody else is experiencing it - I had mentioned earlier that when I set the "text messaging limit" to 100 I was still occasionally getting missing text messages. After we discussed this I set the limit to 25 and I've not seen the...

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

haha Yeah you're right - it uses the other Corn kernel for I9000 based ROMS with the audience chip support. I changed ROMs so many times I forgot - let me restate: "I'm not on 7.06 currently but I never really encountered any problems with it in the past when I've used it (with either Legend or...

Is that encryption issue happening with pretty much every ICS ROM or just specific ones to your knowledge? I didn't actually know about it until I stumbled upon a thread the other day and it pretty much killed any desire I had to leave GB. :) I'm not on 7.06 currently but I never really...

    Post ICS amazing on Cappy

One of the things holding me back from giving ICS a try is audio quality. With gingerbread ROMS I always had better luck with the I897 radio/modems compared to the i9000 ones (in fact these gave me pretty lousy voice quality) so I've always assumed the difference was the audience chip support...

Yeah I was also thinking that was a good idea - but just an hour ago it happened to me again and I only had 24 of them stacked up. Strange. I might try a different SMS app and see if it solves the issue. ---------- Post added at 07:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:11 PM ----------...

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

Sorry I didn't explain that very well - it's not the OLD ones that go missing it's the NEW ones. So for example I'll get a message, it will notify me I got the message but then when I go to the messaging app the message I just received isn't actually there.

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

Have you guys ever seen "missing" SMS messages with Legend? I saw it while using Corn v7.06 but I reflashed (full wipe) with v6.03 a few weeks ago and it just happened to me again. Basically I get the SMS notification and I see the message in the notification bar but when I go to messaging it's...

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

Just a question I've been wondering about KK4 ROMs in general and I guess Legend specifically - Is there anything stopping me from installing and using the Rogers I896 modems/radios from the stock 2.3.3? I'm beginning to suspect I got a better signal with those than with the I897UCKK4 and was...

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

I haven't tried 3.7 yet (still on 3.4) but for me battery life is really solid - probably the best I've experienced on any ROM so far (I've never used Saurom). With light use I can end up with 75%+ battery remaining after 24hours.

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

You might already know this but thought I'd throw it out in case you don't - there are widgets that allow you to completely disable the lockscreen, Widgetsoid for example can do it but there are others. So it doesn't really have to be baked into the ROM.

Sure I'd give it a try - will it install in addition to the mms app I already have or will it stomp on top of it? If it will stomp on top could you post the default legend one so that I can revert if required? (or can I just back it up from /system/app/ myself?)

    Post [ROM] 2.3.5 KK4 - Legend 6 - JellyBean Edition - The Collective

I wonder if AT&T does not use this SMS mechanism to set the Voice Mail indicator as Rogers does. From what I've read some carriers use this to set the voicemail indicator and then clear it when you've listened to/deleted the voice messages. Strangely I only get the SMS for the new message not...

When I go to "Call settings" and then "Voice Call->Call Forwarding" I see the same number for busy, unanswered and unreachable. Nothing for SMS/MMS here. However when I go to the settings of the SMS app the option for "message center" has a phone number which some googling shows is correct for...

Weird - I've seen in the forums that I'm not the only one with this issue - when left to it's own devices my phone will always run at 1200MHZ with Corn (both the kk4 and the i9000 version). Occurs even after full wipes and on any ROM so far including legend. Other kernels with OC do not do this...

Have you ever found with Corn 7.06 it runs at 1200MHZ regardless of what you set the CWM option to? The only way I can ever get it to run at the stock 1000MHZ is to insert my own init.d script. Noticed this on at least two other ROMS when using Corn (Haven't yet tried with Legend but I expect...

So what's the verdict on using the newest corn kernel (7.06) with this ROM? I've seen throughout this thread and others that it might be causing some irregularities with Legend. Given that do you think the issue is with the kernel or just with how it works with this ROM? I guess what am I'm...

Installed this ROM a few days ago and haven't experienced a single problem yet - this is by far the fastest most stable ROM I've run so far on my Captivate. I'm a little late to the Captivate custom ROM scene so it's also great to find one that seems to still have some active development...

I don't want to hijack this thread but are there any ICS roms that support the audience chip? I've never been happy with the voice quality on my phone using i9000 modems so far. It's one of the reasons I've found myself on Illuminance.

Thanks again - so the MMS Fix stops the text logs from showing in the call logs? What else does it do? Just a quick question related to init.d scripts - related mostly to the fact that I'm new to this. What is the general procedure to be followed (regarding init.d scripts) when flashing between ROMs? For example - looks like Apex has inserted a few into my /etc/init.d: S00jvudhdko S70zipalign...

Right - there's an option "overclock to 1200MHZ" which I have set to OFF. So I've assumed that means the device should be running at 1000MHZ(after a reboot) but it's not - it's always 1200. The only way to force it to 1000 is to setup my own init.d script. Not seeing that behavior on other...

Check under SETTINGS -> BASEBAND VERSION. That's your modem. The Apex releases don't come with a kernel/model so you're generally supposed to choose a kernel/model combination package available on the download site. If you didn't do that then I guess you have whatever kernel/modem you had prior...

Corn Kernel I9000-C v1.05 supports ext4 - I'm on Apex 12.4 with that kernel and ext4 without any issues in that regard. I ensured I was on RFS before flashing corn and then converted to ext4 via the kernel's recovery.

Post [Q] What are the advantages of Gingerbread over Froyo?

For me (on Rogers stock ROMS) I found that GB looked nicer than Froyo, was less laggy and gave me superior battery life. Someone earlier mentioned that Froyo was more stable but for me the only difference was the occasional sleep death on GB (never happened on Froyo).

Post Why can't I save apps on my internal SD card?

I'm almost positive that you can't move apps to your "internal SD card" regardless of whether or not you have an external sd card installed. My understanding is that you can only move apps to the external SD card (at least that's how it's been on any ROM I've ever used)

Post [Q] What is normal battery drain?

Yeah I'd say that 3% in 15 minutes is high - I probably drop 1% to 2% per hour or so when idle (but I keep wifi and mobile data disabled when not in use). Even when I'm work though where my cell signal is weaker I don't think I've ever seen my battery drop 3% in 15 minutes.
