The baseband is the same, both on NJ1. I used a phone info app and saw where the bad signal one is showing unknown on the CSC Product Code. The low signal phone was purchased already unlocked and rooted. The good one I rooted and unlocked.

I had a different device a couple of years ago that did that. The "fix" I used was freeze or delete DSP Manager. It is a signal processor, is Eq and sound shaping. I don't have my headphones handy to try mine to see. I will tomorrow.

I want the same functionality. I want to distribute materials and I don't want the card/files deleted or formatted away. I have search google extensively and all I find is how to change the permission from read-only to full write. How did it get read-only in the 1st place?

Take a look at Xposed and see if it needs to be updated again then reboot. Mine needed to be updated/installed and rebooted to make Gravity Box settings work again. It may be something like that.

I use Disable Service and/or Autorun Manager to disable any nonessential services. I haven't experienced any lasting slow down. Periodically when apps are updating or something is syncing it will be slow for a minute or so.

I used 5.1.5 for over a month without any trouble other than USB mass storage was wacky and didn't work. I went back to 5.1.3. for this reason. I can't find anything wrong with it(5.1.3) smooth, fast, everything works. Try a clean install.
